The Council of Ulema of the Russian Muslim Spiritual Directorate announced that it was withdrawing a fatwa permitting polygamy for Muslims due to the "reaction of Russian society" and the Prosecutor General's Office. This was stated by its chairman Shamil Alyautdinov.

Earlier, the RF Prosecutor General's Office warned about the illegality of allowing polygamy for Muslims in Russia and submitted a proposal to eliminate the violation of the law to the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia. There is no trails, no processes. Only a bullet to the head and being dumped on the road.

And while the low-rank soldiers and informats (both volunteers and coerced) are being murdered, high rank officials either defected before the fall of the previous state and reconciled or escaped to Lebanon and Iraq.

Most of the soldiers who are being given am amnesty are Syrian sunni soldiers and officers, who made the majority of the Syrian Arab Army. Alawites made the a large portion of higher ranks, but not exclusively.


Sectarian violence is also being reported, where the tombs of Alawite elders and scholars are being burned and exhumed.
