🧩 Backup Seed Phrase Update: We no longer prompt you to backup your seed phrase on the server. We're working on a feature that will allow you to securely store your seed phrase directly on your device.
🌐 Evername Fix: We fixed the display issues for both Web2 and torrent sites within the browser when using Evername.
🖼 Image Reply Fix: Previously, replying to a message with an image would only show the image without the original message. This bug is squashed! Now, both the image and the original message will be displayed correctly.
🔗 Link Display in Chats: HTTP and HTTPS links now clearly display in your chats, making it easier to identify and click on them.
🌑 Browser Background Improvements: Browser pages now default to a white background, regardless of the theme. This prevents readability issues with black font on dark themes.
⌨️ Long Tap Fix: Fixed the issue where the keyboard wouldn't disappear when long-tapping on a message. Now, long-tap without the keyboard getting in the way.
💬 Focus After Sending Messages: Sending a message no longer loses focus on the input field. Keep typing seamlessly!

We Took On the Web3 and AI Unstoppable Hackathon! 🌟

Guess what? We jumped into the Web3 and AI Unstoppable Hackathon, and we've got some exciting news to share with you!
Unstoppable Domains lets you buy and manage decentralized domain names as NFTs. They support domains like .eth, .dao, .nft, and more.
We decided to tackle one of the challenges in the Resolution and User Experience track:
🔗 Implement reverse resolution functionality to associate wallet addresses with user-friendly UNS or ENS.
During the hackathon, we integrated Matrix accounts with Unstoppable Domains (UD). Now you can find and chat with users using their UD domain in a secure room. And send tokens to your Chumsie! Even if they switch servers, you can still find them by their domain. We also added support for UD in our built-in browser, enabling cross-chain interactions with dapps.
Here’s a cool example:
We bought the domain chaintag.nft and linked it to a Chums account. Since this domain is an NFT on Ethereum, and Chums has a bridge to Ethereum, it’s a perfect match🔥 !
Now, anyone can go to the Chums homepage, hit search, and enter chaintag.nft. You’ll find me, even if you don’t know my name or server! Feel free to drop your feedback in a private message. We've also got similar search functionality for .ever domains.
And that's not all!
You can now visit websites linked to UD domains. To show this off to the judges, we put our donation page on IPFS and linked it to chaintag.nft.

BIG UX UPDATE!
Hi everyone!
We’re making Chums simpler and more user-friendly for you:
✨ All servers are now updated! Domain services are now unified across servers, and shared rooms for news and support are added. And that’s just the beginning.
Tabs have been revamped. There are now two: general chats and recommendations from the server owner. How it works deserves its own post—adding it to the backlog!
Servers now greet you with custom homepages 🏡, giving each community its own unique style.
Experimental features? Of course! We’ve improved multi-account support for smoother switching.
And let’s not forget the bug fixes:
📸 Image sharing on iOS is fixed.
📌 Pins now respond to clicks.
👥 No more message cuts when mentioning multiple people.
⚡️ Faster app launches and smoother GIFs.
Important: we now have a unified support group. Join here.
The old groups will remain accessible for some time as we transition.
🎂 And one more thing: our first birthday is coming up! We’re turning one, and we’ve got a very cool gift prepared for you. You’re going to love it.

Hey Chumsies! Can you believe it's been a whole year since we launched? On January 8th, 2024, we released our first version, and what a ride it's been! 🚀
Let's take a look at our journey:
