YOUR POWER IS THE POSTERIOR CORE

Struggling with a condition called, spondylolisthesis, I wasn't sure about pursuing an active lifestyle.

Spondylolisthesis is where the lower vertebrae slips forward on the disc, leading to anterior pelvic tilt, pain throughout the whole body, and severely limited mobility in my spine and hips. Essentially, it weakened the fundamental system upon which the body depends, the lower back.

After many physio appts, many scans I started employing the following routine daily, and then tri-weekly (after improvement) my body surpassed its previous capabilities by a long shot. I gained the ability to run long distance again, I obtained the pistol squat exercise and my everyday relief from pain increased immeasurably.

If you're having any trouble with your lower back, or you just want to increase your biomechanic effectiveness I recommend the 12min routine below at least once a week (on rest days) or multiple times depending on the severity of your lower back injury.

I cannot overstate the benefits of the below routine for improving the power core of the body, try it out and see how you go.

It's not about having more of the source, it's about being in harmony with it.

How could you possibly have more or less of Gods will expressed through you? The expression of God is infinite, eternal. You can't have more or less of an infinite thing, you have it or you don't.

Therefore focus on trying to be in harmony with the eternal force. Wether you have a bad or a good day, take it all in your stride and focus on adhering to the way.
"Why not change? Gurus are like milestones? It is natural to move on from one to another. Each tells you the direction and the distance, while the sadguru, the eternal Guru, is the road itself. Once you realise that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself an ecstasy."

"I am that" - Nisargadatta Maharaj

An excerpt from todays reading, reminds me that accepting the path ahead and appreciating the journey are greater than attachment to the goal.

For example, when working out, try to focus on the present act (experiencing the movement), as opposed to acts outcome (strength, aesthetics, etc)
This is a new pair of blue blocker glasses. I'll be trying them out for a while to see how they affect sleep patterns, which Is an area of my life I would like to improve. Will post here updates on how they're fairing.
The blender is probably one of my most important tools, nothing compares when comparing its (ease to prepare : max nutrients in) ratio.

This is a great way to break your fast, plenty of nutrients, tasty, quick, and gives you a kick. Id guess the fine shredding also improves your stomachs ability to absorb the nutrients.

- wash and freeze your greens to lock in freshness and increase prep efficiency
- follow it up with a protein smoothie

1 X orange
Handful of greens (spinach, kale)
Ginger
Spirulina (or other green powder)

Doing this everyday has definitely given me more clarity and energy
"You are never without a Guru, for he is timelessly present in your heart. Sometimes he externalises himself and comes to you as an uplifting and reforming factor in your life, a mother, a wife, a teacher; or he remains as an inner urge toward righteousness and perfection.

All you have to do is obey him and do what he tells you. What he wants you to do is simple, learn self-awareness, self-control, self-surrender. It may seem arduous, but it is easy if you are earnest. And quite impossible if you are not. Earnestness is both necessary and sufficient. Everything yields to earnestness."
- I am that, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Earnestness - "sincere and intense conviction."
Yoga meaning, "the means by which the individual spirit can be united with the universal spirit"
Finally finished this book, it is absolutely incredible.

It describes God and our relationship to him (or rather us as him) without being specific about dogmatic ideas and it's content is presented in a pragmatic sense.

If you're someone who has perennial ideas, or you believe in the oneness of the universe, this book is for you.

One of the hard hitting realisations this book presents, is how your mind distorts your view of your true Self through its attachment to desire and fear.

Another is about how all our sense of I am X, or I am y are illusions and that we can only know what we are by negation of what we are not.

I recommend this to anyone who asks questions of their true nature and curious about the lord and our relationship to him.

Simply incredible,
I've just started listening to this podcast, it's excellent.

- Explanation is clear, concise and informative, delivered by a Neuro professor
- Content covers neuro science and it's application so some of the most pertinent information for Humans

Highly recommended

Started reading dune, had no idea this incredible quote was from it...

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

The reason this quote is so incredible, is that first it gets to the core of something fundamental to our being, an intrinsic obstacle in our everyday existence.

Secondly, it highlights the fact that fear is a construct of the mind, just as soon as we bring it forth into existence we can cast it out.

Thirdly, it outlines a means by which we can overcome this fundamental obstacle... by simply bringing awareness to fear we realise that it's an illusionary construct, something separate which can be cast off at a moments notice.

Remember this when you see that cute girl, when you hesitate, etc

Regardless of your spiritual beliefs this is an important Allegory for a battle constantly raging within each of us, do we give into material temptation, or strive for something beyond ourselves.
