🎧 AirPods 4: hidden button and new controls – what's different?

🆕 Apple has unveiled the updated AirPods 4, in which a hidden touch button has replaced the usual physical button for pairing. It is located on the front of the case, giving it a more elegant look.

🟢 Now, to connect your headphones, all you have to do is open the case and double tap the front of the case. There is a triple press or holding the button longer than usual to reset the settings, making the process even more intuitive.

🔋 The charging indicator is now less noticeable, as it only illuminates when the case is opened or during charging, hiding under a neat white plastic. These changes not only make it easier to interact with the device, but also make AirPods 4 more minimalistic, emphasizing Apple's commitment to excellence in every detail.

📦 What's more, the AirPods 4 box is the smallest in the history of the AirPods lineup. This is due to the elimination of the included cable, and the case with the headphones was placed inside the box more compactly.

💸 The versions of AirPods 4 with and without noise canceling, differ on the box by the drawing of the headphones, and also marked with the signature “Active Noise Cancellation”. The price difference is $50.

♻️ There are two paper seals on the back of the box, as well as a short caption about what model of headphones it is and now no drawings. It does, however, say “Please recycle this box.”

iOS 📱brings the satellite messaging feature that literally saved many people during the recent Hurricane Helen, who were without light or cell service for days.

🛰 To send messages via satellite, you need to be outside, in front of an open sky and with a visible horizon. Depending on the obstacles around you, texting and geolocation can take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes.

💰 In addition, Tim Cook on social network 𝕏 announced a donation from Apple to help hurricane victims in the United States:

We're thinking of all those facing the catastrophic aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Apple will be making a donation to help with relief efforts on the ground.

📰 Nearly 100 people have been killed by Hurricane Helen on the southeastern coast of the U.S., with several thousand more injured. Damage is estimated to be up to $100 billion. The disaster deprived residents of power, housing, roads and bridges in several areas from Florida to Virginia.

💻 MacBook Pro with M4 chip ducked before release or not

😳 Foreign media is in shock. Mark Gurman published a post on 𝕏:

Unconfirmed but looks fairly legitimate: a Russian YouTube channel claims to have the yet to be announced M4 MacBook Pro and gave it a full unboxing and hands-on. We’ve seen prototypes leak early but never a full retail Apple device weeks in advance.

💻 A blogger was the first to post an unboxing video of the new 16/512GB version of the new MacBook M4 14” and show what's inside.

🔌 Externally, the box hasn't changed at all, the early photos seem to be true – the pattern is still the same. There are no logo stickers inside now either. And the white power adapter has a green arrow on the factory foil, which was not there before. On the right side of the case, there is another Thunderbolt 4 port on the base version as well. The rest of the design is the same.

👨‍🏫 The MacBook Pro comes pre-installed with macOS 15.0 (24A8332), which means the build is different from the release version. This model, codenamed Mac16.1 (A3112), has a base version of the M4 chip (10 CPU cores / 10 GPU cores) which shows the following numbers in Geekbench:
・Single-Core: 3864
・Multi-Core: 15288

For comparison, the base M3:
・Single-Core: 3082
・Multi-Core: 11584

🤔 It is not known how the blogger got the new MacBook Pro before the official release, but the same Gurman urges caution and watch the video more carefully. He is posting:

The only thing that gives me pause is the wallpaper on the box is the same as last year’s. That may not mean much though. If anyone speaks Russian and English and spots any new features in the video, reply here.
