💰 Apple and NVIDIA continue to converge on many projects and now, according to analysts at Loop Capital, the Cupertinos are ordering 250 of the most powerful server systems with multiple GPUs, each costing $4 million. They are particularly suited for demanding tasks such as generative AI, high-performance computing, LLM models with reasoning skills and graphics file generation.
🤫 Nevertheless, the servers could also be for other Apple cloud projects, which are being kept secret for now.

ℹ️ Apple is preparing to release Beats braided cables. Connector options will be different: USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to Lightning, and USB-C to USB-A. Each will come in a fabric braid and one of four colors. In addition to the standard 1.5-meter versions, there will be shorter 20-centimeter versions for each type of cable.
🔋 Support for fast charging up to 60W and data transfer at USB 2.0 speeds (up to 480Mbps) is claimed.
👂 Officially, Apple has not yet announced the release of these cables. Information has come from some European and Canadian retailers who have added the cables to their website. It is expected to arrive in stock on April 8 at a price of 25 Canadian dollars for the USB-C to USB-C version.

A number of users online have reported that after updating to the now available iOS 18.4, apps that were previously uninstalled have been installed on their iPhones. In addition, developers complain about bugs in iOS 18.4 with apps that work unstably or even fail.

As Bloomberg reports, the new huge (in some scenarios up to 54%) trade duties announced by U.S. President Donald Trump for China, Taiwan, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and other countries negates one of the reasons Apple has been diversifying outside of China. The company has significant facilities and factories in all of the countries listed above that could be affected by the new duties.

💸 Based on projections for the maximum rate (43%), the price of the minimum type budget iPhone 16e model will now increase from $599 to $859. This will also get rid of a special exemption that allowed the model to pay a lower percentage of tax to the customer of the product if the market price of the unit is up to $800 – this measure also being eliminated from May 2025.
🇺🇸 No panic – these prices will be real if Apple really raises prices exactly by 43% to fully compensate for the amount of duty. In that case, we can forget about the cheapest iPhones from the US. There are still options to avoid these sharp increases, but there's not much time left.

📰 As Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports, Apple isn't afraid to raise prices on its devices because of the new duties, but it is looking for ways not to.
The options being considered are:
1️⃣ Negotiating with component suppliers to lower prices. (the second photo shows a breakdown of iPhone 16 Pro component costs by country of supply)
2️⃣ Covering part of the costs with their own profits.
3️⃣ Temporary price adjustment and supply chain diversification (but not moving production to the US).
🇨🇳 The main problem is dependence on Chinese supplies, which are subject to retaliatory duties. Apple has been preparing for the introduction of duties in advance, having created a stock of devices in the U.S., which will allow it to postpone price increases until September (before the release of new iPhones).
🇺🇸 The company could also approach the US administration for incentives, as they did previously during Trump's first term.
