So happy I joined your channel today. Started at the beginning. I'm also excited about migrating to Linux.

There’s a very small portion of Americans that are good enough to start designing these phones (that run linux) better. And even then, there’s never been a great need (that we knew) until now.

I feel like if everyone that feels like we need to step away from big tech, actually take the steps, we could have minds come together and produce a great phone that’s open source, quality built, replaceable parts, etc., that we can run to.

It’s because we bulk at change, that we have let companies control our cars, phones, watches, computers, and more. It’s time we change the routine and create the solutions ourselves.

Freedom is worth it.

I DID IT, WOW! I downloaded Ubuntu to a flash drive, tested it, then cleared out the hard drive and installed on an HP Envy. I followed that youtube video that some of you have posted. Now I've got telegram installed, the wifi works, I'm so excited. Took all night! Now for some experimenting! Maybe after a nap.

I literally now have every single function/app that I relied on in Windows 10 running successfully on Linux Mint—with a single exception. I have a pretty extensive file repository on Microsoft OneDrive. I've not been able to find a client for OneDrive yet that will connect and synchronize my files. I am open to moving all that data to another repository—especially if you guys think connecting to OneDrive is going to compromise my Linux Mint install. It does have a huge number of files on it that I rely on daily so I do need to find a way to access that data from my new found system, Linux Mint. I absolutely love it. I'm never going back.

Oh my gosh! This is all so wonderful but I have no idea where to start!! I have a MacBook Air 2015. Can I use that to do this. And can someone just tell me where to start? I know there are instructions step by step but I just need to start at the beginning. How do I find that place?

Stupid question, but how do we know that there aren’t bad actors also contributing to the programming?

Open sourced. Many eyes on the code.
Thank you to Patriot blogger Bill Lawrence, who recently wrote a very nice article about this new Telegram channel. "Tech pioneer Jeffrey Peterson ... is taking it to a new level. On his Telegram channels, he’s evangelizing for the wholesale migration to the Linux operating system. It’s about time."

I have three older Toshiba machines that run Linux Mint splendidly. Two were pawn shop finds for under $200 each. The third is a "netbook" I bought new that's over 10 years old (it came with Windoze 7 Starter). I set up one laptop for dual boot with Windoze 10. It's remarkable how the Microshaft OS drags it down compared to Mint. I suggest you check your local pawn shops and mom and pop computer businesses for an inexpensive machine to experiment with and learn on.

Mint for Windows folks, Elementary for MAC users. Easier for them to move around and get familiar with the OS
Friends, if you are already enjoying the many benefits of the Linux O.S., take a moment today to share a picture of your favorite desktop environment and wallpaper with other Patriots in our Technology chat room! -> @jptchat

In addition, make sure that your Linux firewall is setup to close the ports you arn't using - which is a separate topic and involves a bit more.

Hammer! LOL. That is a joke but maybe not a joke. I suspect the iPhone itself is as bad as the Pegasus software. I see no hope for iPhone.
Friends, I agree with Will. I know a lot of us at one point loved our iPhones. But many Americans are starting to wake up and realize they don't want to be locked in. It is what it is.

Just revived 2 celeron laptops with Linux. I was just going to donate them. Thanks for this channel. Now on to the next step which is getting rid of my Gmail. Question, I have my photography business and have an email with that. Is it better to just keep using that instead of going to proton mail? I was looking at getting more email control for the family.
