NOTICE To the 250 channel subscribers who registered for our Linux for Beginners ongoing monthly course on Monday of this week, you will receive an email mid-day tomorrow (Thursday, Sep. 16th, 2021) with login instructions for the course.
The course will be delivered on a professional Learning Management System (LMS) that you can use on your mobile device or any web browser. There is no need to be present "live" tomorrow, as we will be focused on getting everyone connected to the LMS, in to the system, and in to the first portion of the course.
The first part of the course can be done entirely at your own pace on the LMS, on your own schedule--meaning, if you're not around tomorrow to do the course, you can catch up on Friday or Saturday, on your own schedule. Just log-in to the LMS whenever it is convenient for you. We will be moving through the materials together as a group, but not always in a "live" format. The LMS allows us to do that, it is great. If that doesn't make sense to you now, it will after you see it. Bottom line, you don't need to be on a live call tomorrow. We will announce ahead of time when we are going to have a live meeting for the group class! Thanks!

I have to say, I didn’t understand my older son when he was in his teens. I had no clue. Please forgive us parents who are clueless. I woke up at 1:30am my time.

Don’t feel bad about it. I had the same thing with my parents, but I don’t blame them. Technology is moving faster than we are evolving as people.

Your mobile phone, (smartphone), also has a motherboard. Usually, the owner cannot add components to a motherboard on a mobile device because everything is soldered in place.
It is not incorrect to call a main board of a mobile device a 'motherboard', but smartphone motherboards are often called 'logic boards'.

For any new Telegram subscribers who don't know me-- hi, I'm Jeff, I work with computers and technology. On this channel, we teach you how to take back your Digital Freedom by leaving the "big tech" Windows/MacOS/Android operating systems and teaching yourself how to use free opensource Linux. It is cool, interesting stuff to learn that will help all of us in many ways you may not have first realized. God bless you and your families. 🇺🇸

Thank you, Jeff! So glad my sis forwarded this chat to me! All of 2021 I have been working at “getting free” from big tech, only to realize just how much more pervasive it’s “claws” have been than I ever realized. THIS open source opportunity is what I have been hoping for! Resurrecting unused laptops and so excited for this “beginners class”!! Thank you!!!

Good morning folks. I’m in the market for some home monitoring cameras (of which there are many) but there are several IOT companies with AI capabilities (Wyze/Kami/Imou) does anyone have a view about those platforms, their products or the overall topic of smart home/IOT/AI?

By the way, something I forgot to mention earlier. FOSS (or Φως) in Greek translates to “Light” (as in luminance). Interesting, no? 😊
