Dumplings in champagne
🔻If you visit Samara city, don't miss a chance to try this dish!
🔻Actually it is a dessert: there's no meat in it, only fruit and berries.
🔻First this recipe was mentioned in a book 'Москва и Москвичи' (Moscow and Moskovites) by Gilyarovsky in 1926.
🔻Did you see the wooden spoon to eat the dumplings with?😉

'Москва' by Dschinghis Khan (1979)
🔻When the city was founded in 1147 it was called 'Moskov" which sounded closer to the present-day English pronunciation.
🔻The city was named after the Moskva river, on which the city is situated.
🔻Finno-Ugric tribes used to live on the territory of the present-day Moscow. The name of the Moskva river most probably originates from an ancient Finnic language.
🔻According to different theories the name of the city might mean 'marshy place', 'dark waters', ´mossy plain´, 'gnat' but linguists cannot come to any agreement and those theories haven't been proven yet.
🔻Moscow has never changed its name. Lots of cities in Russia had different names in different times (St Petersburg - Leningrad , Stalingrad - Volgograd etc).
📎 Just one question: why on earth Natasha??🤨

Do you remember the cats from the Hermitage?
🔻They've caught a strange cat from the street, which illegally lived in an air-duct for a month!
🔻It took them three days to catch this cat.
🔻At night, it went out for walks where it was “absolutely not allowed” and got caught on the sensors, unnerving the guards, saying nothing about unauthorized poops😅.
🔻The museum promised to take care of the stranger.

🔻Once the Russian ambassador Alexandr Sergeyevich Menshikov went to the court of a Turkish sultan.
🔻The Sultan, knew that Menshikov was rather tall, so he ordered a low doorway to be made in his office, so that while entering, the Russian diplomat would have to bow to the Great Sultan, and therefore it would look as if all Rus' bowed to him.
🔻Menshikov, having learned about the treacherous intentions of the Turkish ruler, got a clever solution to this problem - before entering, he turned back and entered the room with his butt forward.
