What is Sizdah Bedarr?

Sizdah Bedar is the day Tir (The Blessed day) of the month Farvardin from ancient Persian (Iranian) calendar, which was the first day of agricultural activity in ancient Persia. Be-dar in Persian means going out.

سیزده بدر روز تیر (یعنی روز مبارک) از ماه فروردین  در زبان فارسی تقویم باستانی (ایرانیان) است که اولین روز فعالیت های کشاورزی در ایران باستان بوده است. "بدر"  به زبان فارسی به معنی "بیرون رفتن" است.

Sizeh Bedar takes place on the 13th day of the Iranian New Year and marks the end of the Norouz holiday.
سیزده بدر در سیزدهمین روز سال نو  ایرانی اتفاق می افتد و پایان تعطیلات نوروزی است.

It is customary for Iranian  to celebrate such day by spending the day outdoors picnicking.
در ایران مرسوم است  با رفتن به  پیک نیک و بیرون از منزل ، چنین روزی را  جشن  بگیرند.

The time spent outdoors with friends and  family is filled with joviality and happiness.
و این ساعاتی که با دوستان و خانواده خارج از منزل صرف شده است، سرشار از شوخی و شادی است.

تو کز محنت دیگران بی غمی، نشاید که نامت نهند آدمی

If you've no sympathy for human pain
The name of human you cannot retain

Si la misère des autres te laisse indifférent
Et sans la moindre peine ! Alors
Il est impensable de t'appeler un être humain
