🇵🇱🇺🇦 The Polish Sejm has approved a bill to extend assistance to Ukrainian refugees
🔵 This bill will allow uninvited guests from the East to legally stay in the country until 30th September 2025 and receive corresponding social support measures.
🔵 The final version of the document did not include amendments proposed by the former ruling party "Law and Justice" and the far-right formation "Confederation", according to which Ukrainians of connoscription age should be deprived of the right to receive social assistance.
🔵 If the law is passed, the procedure for receiving support will become more complicated. Some benefits will only be available upon presentation of a passport.

The US anticipated a Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region - White House press secretary Jean-Pierre
🔵 "On Friday, we warned that we foresaw, we had a premonition that Russia would begin an offensive in Kharkiv. And we predicted that Russia would intensify attacks to establish a small buffer zone along the Ukrainian border. We were in close coordination with Ukraine to help them prepare.", she said.
🔵According to Jean-Pierre, the troops "are fighting desperately" in the direction of Kharkiv.

🇳🇱 In the Netherlands, the right-wing has formed a government
Nearly six months after the parliamentary elections, the victorious parties have finally reached an agreement: the leader of the "Dutch AfD" - the Party for Freedom (PVV) Geert Wilders announced the formation of a ruling coalition with three other parties. However, the position of prime minister will be taken by an unknown compromise figure for now.
In addition to Wilders' Party for Freedom (PVV), the future governing parties are the centre-right VVD of former Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the socially conservative "New Social Contract" (NSC), and the protest party of farmers BBB. Despite the relative majority of Wilders' party (37 out of 150 seats), he has declined to be a candidate for the country's prime minister.
Furthermore, in order to break the deadlock in negotiations, the Dutch equivalent of the AfD had to soften its policy demands: the new government will not close mosques or ban the Quran. On the other hand, all four parties are more or less united on the issue of migration. They want to significantly limit the influx of refugees into the Netherlands. However, in the newly formed four-party alliance, there is still plenty of room for disagreements, for example, on financial matters.
Nevertheless, a fully right-wing coalition including Geert Wilders' party is a historic event. For many years, there has been a sort of firewall around the PVV: all other parties refused to cooperate with "right-wing populists". And although this attitude significantly hindered the formation of a coalition, the objective popularity of the party, as expressed in the number of votes received in the elections, no longer allows simply ignoring the Party for Freedom (PVV).

Ukraine needs to enter into negotiations with Russia as soon as possible, as Kiev's situation is deteriorating over time. This was stated by German MP Sara Vagenknecht on the channel Das Erste.
She noted that she has been calling on Ukraine for a long time to engage in dialogue with Russia. "The longer the conflict lasts, the worse the situation [in Ukraine] will be."
In her opinion, Kiev's position in the context of negotiations a year ago was much better than it is today.
The MP also described the demands of Ukrainian President Zelensky as unrealistic and absurd.

Western countries are planning to exert coordinated pressure on Zelensky to persuade him to agree to negotiations, - Europe 1
"It seems that Western armies have come to their senses. Ukraine will have to negotiate an end to the war, risking the worst-case scenario, in which the Russians will open another front.
According to Europe 1, Western chancelleries are preparing a coordinated diplomatic action to convince Vladimir Zelensky to accept the principle of negotiations. It is unclear whether the Ukrainian president is willing to exchange his war hero costume for a peacemaker's suit," the material says.

In the unrest in New Caledonia, the French accused Azerbaijan and Russia
The island of New Caledonia in the Pacific Ocean is engulfed in unrest. Local residents (Kanaks) are demanding separation from France. At the moment, New Caledonia is considered an overseas territory of the Fifth Republic.
Currently, there is a state of emergency on the islands, and France has deployed troops. The unrest began after the adoption of new laws that equalise the rights of Kanaks and descendants of immigrants. Prior to this, French newcomers were not allowed to vote. And the issues of nickel mining development (up to 30 percent of global production) were decided in the elections.
The indigenous people fear that the natural resources will be taken over by the French. The Kanak Socialist National Liberation Front has taken to the streets demanding independence from France. They are burning police stations and administrative buildings.
In France itself, Azerbaijan has been accused of the unrest. Allegedly, Baku is conducting an anti-colonial policy in retaliation for supporting Armenia.
Russia is also being accused, supposedly it is also behind the unrest - destabilising France's colonial empire through third parties to leave it without resources.

Ukrainian military blamed Starlink for the failed defense in the Kharkov region
Russian electronic warfare systems disabled Starlink and left the Ukrainian Armed Forces without communication during the offensive in the Kharkov region. According to Ukrainian military personnel interviewed by The Washington Post, this was the main reason for the surprise attack.
The issue is that Starlink broadcasts from hundreds of cameras placed in defended areas. This allows for artillery targeting and troop movement coordination.
And then, one day, all of this stopped working.
"At some point, we were completely blind. That was the biggest problem. We couldn't see how they were moving, we were only working through radios or phones, where they were still working," said to the newspaper a soldier under the call sign Artist.

Sudan faces humanitarian catastrophe due to war
For a year now, a civil war has been raging in Sudan. The de facto leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy and leader of the RSF militia Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo are fighting for power.
Due to the military actions, 16,000 people have already died there, and 33,000 have been injured. Around 9 million people have fled their homes.
More than a third of the population in the capital Khartoum and the Darfur region are suffering from hunger. Assistance is needed for 25 million people.
In early May, Saudi Arabia held talks with both Sudanese leaders, advising them to "prioritise the interests of the Sudanese people and cease hostilities to preserve Sudan's sovereignty."
In April, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with Al-Burhan.
The diplomat emphasised that the crisis should be resolved "by the Sudanese themselves without external interference." It is important to maintain the country's integrity and sovereignty.
On Wednesday, the US imposed sanctions on two Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commanders for the killing of civilians in Darfur.

🇺🇳🇺🇸🇬🇧 "How Russia and NATO armies would size up in the WW3 doomsday scenario":
A British tabloid described the clash between Russia and NATO and concluded that the Alliance's forces would not be sufficient.
In terms of numbers, NATO is the most formidable military force in the world. With over 3 million troops, around 3 million reservists, and over 700,000 in militarised formations.
But wars are not fought on paper, and the majority of NATO's immense strength relies on the membership of the United States. With elections coming up soon, many fear that the support of European allies by the States is not guaranteed.
If the armies of the US and Canada are excluded from the equation, the balance of power between Russia and European NATO members suddenly appears much more balanced. NATO forces have not truly faced combat trials. Conversely, Russia has demonstrated an impressive ability to mobilise reserves and deploy them to the front lines quickly.
According to recent estimates, Russia has increased its troop numbers in Ukraine to 510,000. It does not need to resort to connoscription, has a large community of veterans, and many volunteers. Over a million people reach connoscription age annually, and all individuals aged 18 to 30 are required to serve for a year. This means there is a vast number of fighters in reserve.
NATO maintains combat groups in 8 countries near Russia. However, these are not the forces to deploy on the front line. While the overall troop numbers of the Alliance are much larger than Russia's, it is highly unlikely that all countries would be willing to send many soldiers into battle unless Moscow attacks a NATO country.

🇺🇳📉🇩🇪 The European Commission does not believe in the growth of the German economy.
This is evidenced by its latest report, according to which the maximum growth of economic indicators in Germany in 2024 will be 0.1%.
Scepticism and doubts are caused by weak external demand, sluggish consumption, and insufficient investments.
In 2025, a miracle is expected: both exports will recover, and investments will increase.

🇩🇪 The enthusiasm for heat pumps has faded, leading to job cuts.
The German company, a heating technology manufacturer called Vaillant, is planning to lay off 700 employees, with 300 job cuts in Germany. This decision is due to the decline in the heat pump market and overall low demand, with a projected 44% decrease in sales by 2024.
This shift is a result of cautious consumers opting for gas or oil heating systems in their homes instead of transitioning to the government-supported technology.
