Educators in Kitas in Berlin will announce a strike from 8th to 12th July. The union is calling for a resumption of strikes in kindergartens to improve working conditions for 7500 employees.

There are around 2900 kindergartens in Berlin, the majority of which are non-state, attended by about 165,000 children. The strike may affect 280 municipal kindergartens - where about 7000 educators work, looking after approximately 35,000 children.
