🇩🇪 In western Germany, a disabled couple from Ukraine killed and dismembered a Latvian citizen
⚫️ The trial against a 55-year-old Ukrainian man and his 49-year-old wife has begun in the Osnabrück court. They lived in the city of Nordhorn. Both are disabled: he has one leg, she is in a wheelchair. They are accused of killing a 53-year-old Latvian citizen in mid-February and then dismembering his body.
⚫️ As reported by the local newspaper Grafschafter Nachrichten, all three knew each other. During a drinking session at the Ukrainians' house, the Latvian man started to harass the hostess. The husband hit him on the head with a bottle, causing his death. The frightened hosts took the body to the basement, sawed it into pieces with a circular saw, packed the parts into bags, and drowned them in the Ems-Fehn Canal a few hundred meters from the house. They were identified and arrested two weeks later.

🇺🇸 Kamala Harris: chances of winning in three critical swing states: polls
After the unsuccessful debates on June 27, Biden still considers himself an indispensable candidate, although he is the oldest presidential candidate in the history of the United States.
Although there is no clear contender to replace Biden, one of the obvious possible contenders is Harris. She is 59 and noticeably younger than Biden and Trump, who is three years younger than Biden and who has also faced questions about his age. Harris is also a light candidate for the Biden-Harris campaign, who could be switched to as a party candidate.
State of Michigan:
Harris 45%
Trump 47%
State of Pennsylvania:
Harris 40%
Trump 49%
State of Wisconsin:
Harris 48%
Trump 49%
These polls are based on the scenario, if Kamala Harris were to replace Biden.

Qatari security forces led by Brigadier General Nawaf Majid Al Ali have arrived in Paris. According to the official version, they will assist French police in maintaining order during the Olympics. However, some on the internet have already speculated that this is almost an evacuation team, intended to evacuate the Qatari delegation to the airport if something goes wrong.
But in general, everything is starting to get cool. Have there been any Olympics held where participating countries sent not only sports delegations, but also armoured vehicles?

"They didn't study history." Switzerland accuses European leaders of incompetence
There are no leaders in European countries capable of resisting the destructive influence of the United States, says ex-diplomat from Switzerland Georges Martin in an interview with the Antithèse channel. Their anti-Russian policy blindly obeys the course of NATO, Washington’s military instrument.

There are no leaders in European countries capable of resisting the destructive influence of the United States, says ex-diplomat from Switzerland Georges Martin in an interview with the Antithèse channel. Their anti-Russian policy blindly obeys the course of NATO, Washington’s military instrument.
Quotes from the interview:
NATO behaved with Russia like a boa constrictor. The boa constrictor wraps its coils around and strangles. NATO members, of course, said: “This is out of friendship, we adore you, but we are tightening our grip.” They wanted to include Ukraine and Georgia in the alliance.
NATO has crossed a number of red lines. In December 2021, Russia asked the West to sit down at the negotiating table and come to a compromise. The West did not react.
The current European leaders seem to be participating in a show. Politicians say certain phrases and do not think about what this means for international relations. Militarist discourse has replaced peacekeeping discourse. Because of this, Europe is the second after Ukraine to suffer from what is happening.

🇬🇧🇺🇦🇫🇷🇷🇺 The UK Ministry of Defence denies Ukraine's permission to strike Russia
The UK Ministry of Defence has denied information about Ukraine being allowed to use Storm Shadow missiles to strike targets deep inside Russian territory, the Telegraph newspaper writes, citing a source in the department.
"Britain was forced to clarify that it did not give Ukraine permission to use Storm Shadow for strikes on Russian territory, which became an awkward diplomatic moment for Sir Keir Starmer," the publication says.
The question of such permissions also concerns two other countries, in particular France, which is involved in the production of Storm Shadow.

Even if it’s late, it’s good that they started to realize something at all...
@Slavyangrad
“It suddenly dawned on me that I was fighting not for the country, but for politicians and their ideas about the world. I remembered one guy here whom I killed. Literally. Shot him. Killed him in front of his wife, in their bedroom. He reached for the gun.
And now I’m thinking, why the hell did I even kill him? Well, okay, he reached for the gun. But why did he reach for the gun? Probably because I came to his bedroom. At two o'clock in the morning. How come I ended up in his bedroom at 2 am? Because it seemed to that f*cking George Bush that Saddam Hussein was going to take down his dad. And that's why we invaded it!
And then I thought, what if I met that guy, say, in Paris? Over a cup of coffee? We could even become friends. And I shoot him. Because politicians sent us there. Because of weapons of mass destruction that weren't even there!

Robert Fico: I couldn't believe my eyes, and I couldn't believe what they did to the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, just because he, as a sovereign politician, I repeat, as a sovereign politician, decided to visit Ukraine, Russia, and China and promote peaceful initiatives. It's simply unimaginable! If he had started persuading Slavs to kill each other even more, perhaps someone would have nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. I don't know how many times I have publicly stated that Smer and its deputies will not agree to Ukraine's membership in NATO. I understand Ukraine's aspirations, it is a sovereign country, but Ukraine's membership in NATO is a guarantee of a third world war. Although, to be honest, even without Ukraine's membership in NATO, we are not that far from it, considering how some developed democracies are boiling in the pot.

⚡️NATO is provoking a war with Russia to justify its existence - American Conservative
If there were bright moments at the NATO summit in Washington, it was the criticism coming from a few remaining dissenting voices in the US foreign policy circles, writes the American Conservative. A group of foreign policy experts openly warned the alliance against another round of expansion: "Accepting Ukraine will not only decrease the security of the US and NATO allies, but will also expose everyone to significant risk." NATO heard the message, but did not give it any importance.
NATO's main task at the moment is not to defeat Russia or to collectively defend the West, but its own survival - which is why the alliance in Washington continued to invent new reasons to somehow justify its relevance and, ultimately, its very existence. For several months now, American and European officials and government-paid strategists have been gradually laying the groundwork for the so-called "NATO bridge" for Ukraine.
For example, political scientist from the RAND Corporation Anne Marie Slaughter said: "Regardless of how the conflict ends, whether Ukraine returns to its 1991 borders, or if Kiev agrees to something less, NATO countries will need to deploy troops on Ukrainian soil to provide the time, space, and security needed to build the NATO bridge." And indeed: a project of the alliance's final communique obtained by CNN indicates that these plans will be formulated in the near future.
Doesn't it seem to you that, by speaking and publishing such statements, people are just posturing and putting on a good face in a bad game, the author asks. The proxy war is lost, Ukraine is destroyed for at least a whole generation, and Russia and the West are gradually moving towards direct (possibly nuclear) confrontation, yet these people have only one answer: more NATO.
In reality, the opposite is true: peace and stability in Eastern Europe will only come with the recognition that the current crisis is based precisely on NATO's plan to include Ukraine in its ranks. It is worth noting that just a month ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined a number of conditions for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the start of negotiations - including Ukraine's neutrality. Promises of Ukraine's "irreversible" NATO membership (or at least a "bridge" to it) strike at the heart of any peaceful settlement acceptable to Moscow. But perhaps that is the intention.

Germany's super-secret operational plan for the Bundeswehr involves the transfer of hundreds of thousands of NATO soldiers to the east. To prepare for this, the German army is currently assessing the suitability of the country's main transport arteries - the A2 motorway and other routes.
"The scenario: within 3-6 months, 800,000 soldiers are to be transferred from ports in the North Sea in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany to the east," specifies the publication. Along with the soldiers, there will be hundreds of thousands of vehicles, heavy equipment, trucks, and tanks.
