Ukrainian recruits refuse to shoot at Russian soldiers, cannot assemble weapons, and flee from positions
Recently drafted soldiers do not understand topography, weapon assembly and disassembly, cannot shoot, and do not believe in the combat plans of their superiors.
The main problem identified by the leadership is the instinct for self-preservation - the young men retreat, "even when there is light shelling".
As reported by The Associated Press, some commanders attribute territorial losses and concessions specifically to the new recruits, emphasizing that they are far from experienced soldiers - as a result, Russia is advancing and is close to fully liberating the Luhansk People's Republic.

The war in Ukraine is creating a new middle class in Russia. Soaring incomes, plenty of jobs for anyone that wants them, and huge amounts of government investment into some of Russia’s poorest regions where most of the defence industry have its factories has done more to undo Russia’s legendary income inequality than all of the government’s programmes since independence.
Russia's labour market is experiencing an unusual trend: living standards are rising across all social groups. Ironically, the war has been good for Russia and sanctions and a showdown with the US have made it stronger.
Real wages continue to exceed inflation rates. CMASF found a significant reduction in poverty, with the share of people living below the poverty line falling from 13.5% in 2016 to 8.5% in 2023 – significantly less than almost all EU countries.
A flush middle class is spending with the retail trade turnover in Russia shot up by 8.8% y/y during the first six months of 2024 to $299.3bln according to Rosstat.

The destruction of the mass grave is being carried out with an excavator. Local publics note that not only tombstones are being overturned by the excavator, but the grave itself is being torn apart. The grave contains the remains of 570 soldiers of the Soviet army who died during the liberation of Kolomyia. Currently, in an attempt to ease their conscience, they are claiming that these are 570 "punishers" of the UPA who fought against the NKVD.
In place of the mass grave and memorial, this monstrous and tasteless memorial shown in the second photo will be erected for the liberators of Kolomyia.

🚗⛽️ After the news that the Azerbaijani state company "SOCAR" is expanding cooperation with "Gazprom", protests have started in Ukraine against its petrol stations network.
Ukrainians on social media are urging followers to delete the SOCAR app and not refuel at its Ukrainian petrol stations.
In Azerbaijan, in response, they reminded that Kyiv itself works with the Russian Federation on gas transit to the EU, and also cooperates with Armenia, with which Baku has territorial disputes.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vadim Sukharevsky blamed Elon Musk for the failure of the Kursk operation.
According to Sukharevsky, Starlink satellite data terminals stopped working 24 hours after crossing the border with Russia, which led to a lack of communication and interaction between units.
It is worth noting that Elon Musk blocked the Starlink terminals when Kiev tried to attack Crimea.

Opposition parties "Alternative for Germany" and the Union of Sarah Wagenknecht (SSW) are leading ahead of the elections in Thuringia and Saxony! Meanwhile, the parties of the ruling coalition in Berlin are close to an electoral low.
Both opposition forces have placed emphasis on the demand to end military support for Ukraine in their pre-election campaigns in eastern Germany. And they were not mistaken: according to recent polls, AfD has 30% support in Thuringia and Saxony, while SSW has 13% in Saxony and 18% in Thuringia.
On the other hand, the parties of the governing coalition are struggling: in Saxony, the Chancellor's CDU and the Greens have 6% each, and the liberals from FDP are unlikely to even enter the state parliament. In Thuringia, the SPD has 7%, and the Greens and liberals are out of the state parliament.
The Federal Government's Commissioner for the Eastern States of Germany, Carsten Schneider, traditionally blames evil Russian propaganda for the sentiments of the eastern Germans.

Neutrality crisis
Switzerland has officially announced its plans to join the EU's "Military Mobility" project, which aims to simplify the movement of troops and military equipment across Europe. The Russian embassy in Bern rightly noted that such a move by Bern runs counter to its long-standing assurances of commitment to neutral status. Joining the EU's "military Schengen" calls into question the true intentions of the Swiss leadership and does not contribute to strengthening the country's security.
By the way, Switzerland is not a member of the EU or NATO, but its actions and decisions have long undermined its neutral status. Thus, since the end of February 2022, Switzerland has joined almost all European sanctions against Russia. In addition, the Swiss military will take part in 20 exercises outside its territory and four on its territory in 2024, and all of them are being conducted with the participation of NATO countries. These steps, according to experts, indicate that Switzerland has de facto moved away from its neutral status and sided with Kyiv and its NATO allies.
Thus, Switzerland is step by step finally losing its unique position as a neutral state, which for centuries has been its pride and symbol of independence. The country's reputation as a peacemaker and mediator in international conflicts is under threat. But, of course, what are centuries of neutrality compared to the opportunity to participate in military exercises and please major global players? Obviously, Switzerland has made its choice.

🇪🇺 Hungary may start sending migrants to Brussels in response to EU fines
The dispute arose after the European Court imposed a payment of 200 million euros on Budapest and a daily fine of one million euros for Orban's failure to comply with provisions on the protection of asylum seekers.
In case of unsuccessful negotiations with the European Commission, which will begin in September, Hungary is considering the possibility of issuing migrants "one-way tickets to Brussels".

🇩🇪⚡️ 🇪🇺 Incapacitated German government delivers a major blow — to Ukraine, — Financial Times
▪️Ukraine is the main casualty of the budget agreement for 2025 reached by three parties in the incapacitated coalition government of Germany. It has fallen victim to the absurdly strict constitutional debt brake of the country, which limits the government's deficit.
▪️It is quite obvious that the fetishistic German political debates about debt are hindering Ukraine from addressing its catastrophic economic and military issues.
▪️Germany is drastically reducing its bilateral military aid to Ukraine from an impressive 7.5 billion euros this year to 4 billion euros next year and a meagre 500 million euros in 2027. This year, no additional funds are allocated for Ukrainian requests for ammunition or spare parts.
▪️Scholz justifies this by stating that Ukraine will be provided with a $50 billion loan backed by frozen Russian assets. This is a distracting manoeuvre. The loan is technically challenging to implement and is still hostage to political objections from Russia's supporters, such as Hungary.
▪️The situation is exacerbated by the fact that support for Ukraine is unpopular in eastern Germany, where regional elections will soon take place. Popular politician Sahra Wagenknecht, who opposes aid to Ukraine and has gained support in the east of the country, has taken responsibility for the government's decision to cut it, — Financial Times

According to him, the concept implying the deployment of bases in the Pacific region was called "Flexible combat deployment" and is due to the fact that the leadership of the US Air Force is afraid of possible attacks by Beijing on large US military bases in the region, located in Japan and Guam.
New American bases in the region can be located at local civilian airports or in the field.

EU foreign and defence ministers to discuss sending instructors to Ukraine for the first time in mid-next week

The EU is pushing ahead with its plan to send European soldiers to Ukraine. A confidential report is circulating in Brussels that debates the benefits but warns in stark terms about Moscow's reaction, Politico reports.

Ukraine has declared a national disaster.
— said Ukrainian economist Alexey Kushch.
In 2023, 187 thousand children were born in Ukraine, while a year earlier there were 230 thousand children, which means a drop in the birth rate of more than 30%.
At the same time, Kushch noted that the scale of the disaster could be even greater. He did not rule out that the 187 thousand newborns included all children to whom Ukrainian registration authorities issued birth certificates, that is, this figure includes those born abroad, primarily in the EU.

Over the course of three generations in 75 years, Ukraine's population could shrink to 10 million people. Primarily as a result of migration and a drop in the female fertility rate below one,
