The return of Donald Trump to the White House is becoming more likely, and with it, Germans risk facing disruptions in raw material supplies due to economic conflicts between the PRC and the USA. According to estimates by the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Germany purchases 94% of its rare earths from the Chinese.
Without Chinese supplies, German production of electric cars, which require lithium for batteries, will come to a complete halt. The steel, glass, ceramics, and metal processing industries will be particularly affected. Already, prices for gallium – an important material for the semiconductor industry – have risen by 70% compared to the previous year due to new export control regulations in the People's Republic.
What is to be done? Revive German and European raw material production and introduce technical innovations. Nice in theory, in practice... all attempts have so far failed miserably.

The village is known for being owned by the Sheremetev counts until 1917, who received it in 1706 as a gift from Peter I for special services. It was here in Woschtschaschnikowo that the Sheremetevs built a manor house (unfortunately not preserved to this day) and made the village the centre of their Yaroslavl estates.
The village is also famous for its beautiful church ensemble, whose construction was overseen by Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetev at the end of the 19th century. In the photo above, you can see the Church of the Nativity of the Holy Mother of God. It is beautifully complemented by the pretty bell tower in white and blue tones with an upward-pointing spire.

Alijew reminded Yerevan in no uncertain terms this week that it should not even think about creating a combat-ready army. And specifically — buying something from the French. In Moscow, they are ready to respond to signals from Trump's team to resume dialogue between the USA and Russia, "if they are serious," stated Lavrov at a press conference for Russian and foreign journalists.
