Trump signs decree banning transgender services in the US military and a decree restoring thousands of soldiers who were discharged for refusing to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Trump has also ordered the abolition of the DEI principle (Diversity, equity, and inclusion) in the American military.
About 15,500 transgender individuals, including senior military officials currently serving in the US, will be discharged for medical reasons as they are deemed unfit for service.
More than 8,000 soldiers who were discharged between 2021 and 2023 under the Biden administration's vaccination mandate for refusing to get vaccinated against Covid-19 will be reinstated at full rank with pay and benefits. They are clearly meant to replace the transgender individuals.
