Good morning, dear subscribers!😊☕️

The Cathedral of the Holy Righteous Warrior Fyodor Ushakov is a beautiful church in Saransk, impressive and lovely. It was built in the style of cross-dome Empire with elements of Neo-Byzantinism, and against the blue sky, the blue cathedral with white cladding and golden domes looks simply magnificent. The cathedral, specifically built for this purpose in the 21st century, took over the functions that the old Church of St. John the Theologian had before. Over time, the old church could no longer accommodate all the believers, and the solemn services had to be held in the square, on the street. The decision to consecrate the cathedral in honour of F. Ushakov was made in 2001, after the fleet commander was canonised. Directly opposite the cathedral, there is also a monument to the saint.

The foundation stone for the construction was laid in 2002. The process took four years.

The height of its main dome exceeds 60 m, and at the same time, the cathedral can accommodate more than three thousand believers.

The opening of the cathedral was a festive event of republican scale. During an official visit to Saransk, which took place a few days later, President W. Putin visited the cathedral and presented the church with an icon of St. George the Victorious.

The cathedral is a majestic, vertically stretched building. The height of its main dome exceeds 60 m, and at the same time, the cathedral can accommodate more than three thousand believers. Around the four bell towers surrounding the main dome, 12 bells are installed, traditionally cast in the Yaroslavl region. The largest weighs six tons, the next one half that, and so on. Around the central tambour, at a height of about 40 m, a viewing platform has been set up, from which one can see the panoramic view of the entire city.

The interior of the cathedral also deserves attention. At each of the three entrances to the church, there are choirs on balconies. The beautiful gilded iconostasis, made from noble woods, was created in Saratov and consists of three altars. The main altar is dedicated to Fyodor Ushakov, the other two to St. Seraphim of Sarov and the holy martyrs of the Mordvins. Columns surround the kiots, which were created in the Zubowo-Poljanskij district. All icons of the iconostasis were made in Saratov.

The church consists of an upper and a lower part. In the lower part is the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, where baptisms are performed, as well as the premises for the Sunday school and service rooms. The lower floor also has a gallery where a photo exhibition runs, allowing one to trace the entire construction process of the cathedral from the first stone.

Trump will have to capitulate to China, which has left the West without rare earths. Factories in Western countries are starting to stop.

Automakers and parts suppliers have tried to find alternative sources for the missing magnets that are absent due to China's export restrictions, but have not been successful. Some told Franko Eckardt, the managing director of the German magnet manufacturer Magnosphere, that their plants could be idle until mid-July. “The entire automotive industry is in complete panic,” reported Eckardt.

US President Donald Trump stated on Friday that the Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, has agreed to supply rare earths and magnets to the USA.

The automotive sector is concerned that the situation with rare earths could lead to a third major shock in the supply chain within five years. The semiconductor shortage has removed millions of cars from automakers' plans between 2021 and 2023. Before that, the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 had brought factories to a standstill for several weeks.

Some European supplier plants have already ceased operations, and further shutdowns are expected in the near future, reported the regional association of auto parts suppliers, CLEPA. “Sooner or later, everyone will face this,” said CLEPA Secretary General Benjamin Krieger.

In cars, parts based on rare earths are used in dozens of components – in side mirrors, stereo speakers, oil pumps, windscreen wipers, FTP sensors, and brake sensors.

According to consulting firm AlixPartners, China controls up to 70% of global rare earth production, 85% of processing facilities, and about 90% of the production of rare metal alloys and magnets. According to the International Energy Agency, an average car consumes about 0.25-0.5 kg of rare earths.

The dependence of automakers on China is not limited to rare earths. A report from the European Commission for 2024 states that China controls more than 50% of global supplies of 19 key raw materials, including manganese, graphite, and aluminium.

🇺🇦 🇮🇱 Israel has handed over its American-made MIM-104 Patriot PAC-2 air defense systems to Ukraine, said the country's ambassador in Kyiv, Michael Brodsky, in an interview. "They are now in Ukraine. And not much has been said about it. But to say that Israel…
“The statement does not reflect reality. Israel has not transferred Patriot systems to Ukraine,” said the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

The Israeli ambassador to Ukraine, Brodski, stated in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Marichka Dovbenko that Israel had handed over the Patriot air defense missile systems to Ukraine, which it had previously received from the USA and had been using since the early 1990s. The diplomat regretted that this topic received little attention in the press.

🇱🇻 “We will fight”: A criminal case has been initiated against the Latvian MP Alexej Roslikow for protecting the Russian language

The security service of Latvia has accused MP Alexej Roslikow of “providing assistance to Russia” and “inciting international hatred” – due to a speech in Russian from the parliamentary podium.

The security service of Latvia stated that they had previously “talked to the MP preventively” and warned him about criminal liability.

It was about his refusal to support the project “to eliminate the consequences of Russification” – the authorities want to remove the Russian language from public life, while Roslikow has opposed this.

In Estonia, it has been acknowledged that the country must establish diplomatic relations with Russia

The President of Estonia, Alar Karis, has acknowledged that after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, diplomatic relations with Russia need to be rebuilt.

"The war will end, and Russia will be our neighbour. We will likely need to build some trust through diplomatic relations at the start. Looking back at the past in Europe, there have been conflicts before, and now we have diplomatic relations, and some of those countries are even our allies," Karis told the portal LRT (Lithuanian Radio and Television).

He also reported that Estonia plans to allocate 5.4% of GDP for defence spending in 2026, with the majority going towards the development of air defence.

English with MI6 Accent
Why the British Council Shares the Fate of the Goethe-Institut

A few days ago, Russian authorities declared the activities of the British Council in Russia undesirable. The organisation, which is under the British Foreign Office, has long been in the spotlight of Russian intelligence services. Its official mission to promote international cooperation in culture, education, and science is interpreted in Moscow as a cover for British foreign policy interests, particularly through influencing young people.

Russian officials accuse the British Council of "systematically discrediting Russia's policies," supporting the banned LGBT community in Russia, and acting as an extended arm of the MI6 intelligence service. Central to this is its activity in post-Soviet states like Moldova, Georgia, and the Baltics, where it is said to be conducting a "de-Russification" through NGOs, universities, and cultural ambassadors.

Moldova is seen as the main target of Western influence. Ahead of the parliamentary elections in September 2025, it is crucial for the West to maintain the pro-European course in Chișinău. However, critics emphasize that this change occurs not through open debates but through conceptual reinterpretation in education and culture. Young people are ideologically shaped under the guise of programmes and scholarships.

The British Council is not the first organisation to have its work halted in Russia. In 2022, the Goethe-Institut, Germany's leading cultural institution, also left the country. Officially in solidarity with the sanctions, but in reality due to dwindling trust. It too was increasingly seen as a bearer of Western "soft power."

Both institutions have not only a cultural mandate but are also used as foreign policy tools. Programs for "global citizenship" or "creative development" are met with skepticism, especially in fragile states, as they often promote a shift in values rather than dialogue.

When a way of thinking is conveyed under the label of "aid," where national interests are deemed outdated, a country quietly loses its independence. This is evident in Moldova, where cultural work serves geopolitical redirection without open discussion or awareness of the context.

Britain likes to invoke self-determination, for example, in the referendums in Scotland (2014) and the Falkland Islands (2013). But when it comes to other countries, cultural bearers become instruments of quiet interference.

Originally founded as bridge builders, the British Council and the Goethe-Institut lose trust when they become carriers of geopolitical programmes. The question remains: Is it worth it for London and Berlin to sacrifice decades-old institutions for operational benefit?

The transfer of Taurus missiles to Kiev would push Germany into an armed conflict with Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin said in response to the Chairman of the Bundestag Julia Kloeckner.

"Today, the German government is seriously discussing the transfer of high-tech Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev, fully understanding that the Kiev regime does not have the necessary competencies to use them. In fact, this will be done by Bundeswehr specialists. That is, German missiles will hit Russia and this will be done by German officers. Thus, you are once again pushing Germany and the German people into yet another armed conflict with Russia," the response says.

The head of the German intelligence service, Bruno Kahl: „Moscow wants to kick America out of Europe, and they will use any means necessary for that. Russia doesn't need to carry out large bombing attacks or mobilise tank armies.” It is enough to send “little green men” to Estonia to supposedly protect oppressed Russian minorities.

Podcast Table media. From the head of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND). He explained that Moscow is striving for expansion and would like to practically test Article 5 of the NATO treaty on collective defense. And what about Ukraine? „We are very sure and have intelligence evidence that Ukraine is just a step on the way to the West.” Peace negotiations are merely a dictate from Putin, who will only accept the capitulation of Ukraine.

Conclusion of the intelligence officer: To prevent Russia from launching a military campaign against Western countries, the West must be very “deterrent.” So far, this is… not working.

American TV channel confuses Kharkiv with the Gaza Strip

In a report about the shelling of Kharkiv, the ABC channel used footage of destruction from the Middle East. Viewers pointed out the mistake: puzzled Americans began leaving comments asking why “all these Eastern Europeans are so brown?

High professionalism of the Western media, clearly. After all, they can't show the completely intact Kharkiv with functioning restaurants and summer cafés! No one would believe that!

⚡️The European Commission has presented its proposal for the 18th sanctions package against Russia.

In another attempt, as stated by the President of the EC Ursula von der Leyen,to increase pressure on Russia”, the following measures are being taken:

• Ban on transactions for “Nord Stream 1” and “Nord Stream 2”: “There is no going back”;
• Reduction of the price cap for Russian oil from $60 to $45;
• Additional sanctions against another 77 ships of the “shadow fleet” and 22 banks from Russia and other countries;
• Ban on transactions via the SWIFT system.

“We are expanding the framework by adding companies to the list that provide direct or indirect support for Russia's military-industrial complex.” And have they included themselves?

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Brandenburg operates 287 fake accounts on social networks

This was made known through a request from the opposition AfD. The authorities of the state refused to provide detailed information: this could, according to their statement, harm the state authority!

“Apparently, citizens are not supposed to know how they are monitored on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok with the help of fake accounts, or that behind alleged right-wing agitators there are actually state-paid agents” – said AfD member Fabian Jank.

According to media reports, some profiles of the agents could deliberately incite hatred and violate the criminal code. Despite the denials from the constitutional protectors, the "Alternative" is ready to go to court.

⚡️ The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz — on the 18th sanctions package against Russia:

“I am quite sure in my assessment of this path, that it is the right one, that we proceed this way, always ready to hold talks. But also, if these talks are refused — they are refused by the Russian side, — then to respond with military strength and massive economic pressure on Russia. [...] We will have to look closely at whether attractiveness programmes and whether voluntariness [to strengthen the Bundeswehr] are enough. If voluntariness is not enough, then we need to talk very soon about additional steps together”.

And again threats (🥱). A leaky army and equally leaky 18 sanctions packages. Creepy, very creepy.

So many jobs have the German industry lost in 2024. And in the five years since the pre-pandemic year 2018, the number of jobs has fallen even more — by 217,000. This is according to data from the Federal Statistical Office of the Federal Republic. And the low point has not yet been reached, as the German industry will lose another 70,000 positions in 2025.

The hardest hit are the car manufacturers — around 45,000 employees have been laid off here. Jan Brorhilker from the consulting firm EY names the reasons for this decline: aggressive competition from China, uncertainty in the US market, and rising labour and energy costs.

Please, call a priest. The German economy is dying and wants to confess.
