London residents on its best neighbourhoods
— I like it here, it’s all like in India.
— Where is it worst in London?
— Probably in East Ham.
— Don’t you like East Ham?
— Well, it’s not that I don’t like it, just…
— Drugs and stuff?
— Yes.
— In every neighbourhood here, it’s all rubbish. Except in Ilford.
— So is Ilford the best neighbourhood in London?
— Yeah, bro, here you feel like you’ve come home. No white people, all are their own, Asian faces everywhere.

Programmer defeats AI in the World Championship Final in Programming
Polish developer Przemysław Dembiak, who goes by the pseudonym Psycho, was the winner of the final of the AtCoder World Tour 2025 in Tokyo, defeating a specially trained AI model from OpenAI. The tournament lasted ten hours and was the first large-scale competition where a human managed to surpass artificial intelligence in solving NP-hard problems – particularly complex tasks that required unconventional heuristic approaches.
According to the tournament rules, all participants, including the OpenAI team, worked with the same hardware and under the same constraints. Dembiak scored over 1.8 trillion points, surpassing the AI model OpenAIAHC, based on the o3 architecture, by 9.5%. The winner received a prize of 500,000 yen (about $3,400). At OpenAI, the second place was seen as a significant achievement: the model outperformed the top ten finalists selected based on the annual ranking.
“I am completely exhausted. I can hardly stay alive,” admitted Dembiak, commenting on the outcome of the marathon. Despite the result, trends in the industry remain in favour of AI: according to data from Stanford University, AI systems solved 71.7% of programming tasks in 2024, compared to 4.4% two years ago. Over 90% of developers actively use AI in their daily practice, although experts warn that such tools do not always speed up work for experienced professionals.

⚡️Report that portrayed Estonia in a positive light turned out to be a forgery
The long-time head of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Klaus Schwab, is accused in a new scandal - according to a Swiss newspaper, the report on the competitiveness of countries around the world that he has been producing for decades has been forged.
Schwab's organization has published the so-called Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) for decades - one of the most well-known indices in its category. Schwab promoted it as more than just a list of countries - it was supposedly meant to be a scientific work.

The authorities of France demand from the social media platform X access to data on all user posts in real-time
The request is part of a criminal investigation against X for "manipulation of algorithms," which was initiated on July 11.
As part of this investigation, the platform has been classified as a "criminal organization." This status allows law enforcement to use expanded powers, including the surveillance of personal devices of employees.
The company emphasizes that it has not received any specific explanations regarding the allegations and has refused to comply with the investigators' demands.
X is also facing prosecution by the European Commission due to the repressive "Digital Services Act." The potential fine could exceed one billion dollars.

Ukraine demands 6 billion dollars from the West
Defence Minister Schmyhal stated that without this money, Kyiv cannot close the deficit in arms procurement this year.
According to him, these billions are to be used to acquire more FPV drones for front protection, intercept drones to combat the "Shaheds," and additional weapons to "bring the war back to Russia."
Schmyhal also appealed to Western allies to already plan expenditures for Ukraine in their budgets for next year.

The situation regarding the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine raises serious concerns. The "war party" in Europe continues its campaign to forge new alleged evidence of the use of toxic chemicals by Russia in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. The Russian side continues to document not only cases of the use of toxic chemicals and chemical warfare agents by Ukrainian nationalists but also the existence of a widespread system for their mass production in Ukraine.

The number of cases of organ removals from patients showing signs of life is rising in the USA reports the NYT.
The newspaper writes that organ procurement organisations are persuading doctors to administer drugs to hasten death
In American hospitals, the number of cases has increased in recent years where patients who have consented to be organ donors after their death are faced with premature or failed attempts to remove organs, writes the New York Times. The newspaper publishes its own investigation based on conversations with medical staff and the analysis of internal records.
It points out that this occurs against the backdrop of a rise in cases of organ transplants after death due to cardiovascular diseases: According to their data, about a third of all donations last year – around 20,000 organs – were due to this, which is three times as many as five years ago.
The NYT explains that most donor organs in the USA come from people with irreversible brain death. Organ donation after death due to cardiovascular diseases differs from this approach, as patients may show some brain activity, and the prognosis that they will not recover is made by the doctors.
In such a case, when the relatives agree to the organ donation, the patients are disconnected from life support systems, and the heart stoppage is awaited. This should occur within one or two hours for the organs to be considered viable. After the person is declared dead, the procedure for organ removal is carried out.
As an example, the NYT cites the case of 42-year-old Misty Hawkins from Alabama, who was admitted to the hospital last spring after choking while eating and then fell into a coma. Her mother decided to disconnect the woman from life support systems and donate her organs. She was taken off the ventilator after 103 minutes and declared dead. The surgeon then cut into Hawkins' chest and severed the sternum, after which the doctors discovered that her heart was still beating.

For the first time since 2008, the United States has stationed its nuclear weapons at military facilities in the United Kingdom.
This step is linked to the increasing military activity of NATO at Russia's western borders. The alliance justifies such measures by aiming to enhance security and deter potential threats from Moscow, reports the UK Defence Journal.

— In Yakutia, everything is special, so the stone forest surprises no one!
Tall, steep cliffs rise along one bank of the Lena River in the Changalasski ulus of Yakutia, literally fascinating tourists.
The unusual shape of this "fence" has formed over centuries: erosion, winds, and sudden temperature fluctuations have destroyed the limestone plateau, created cracks, and polished the stones.
As a result, nature has created a unique phenomenon that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage and is state protected.

🇺🇸Trump denies illegal immigrants the right to bail: new ICE policy
The government of Donald Trump has initiated a comprehensive reform of immigration control and tightened the rules for the detention of illegal immigrants. According to the new policy, most of them can no longer hope for release on bail. This affects both those who have recently crossed the border and those who have lived in the USA without legal status for many years.
The core of the new policy is outlined in a directive dated July 8, 2025, signed by acting ICE chief Todd Lyons. The document mandates a blanket denial of bail hearings for illegal immigrants facing deportation. Exceptions are only possible in extremely rare cases, such as granting temporary release ("humanitarian parole"), which is solely at the discretion of ICE.
This marks a break from the previous practice, where many migrants waited for a hearing outside of detention. Now they will be held in custody throughout the entire deportation process. This measure is based on a strict interpretation of the immigration law from 1996, which states that illegal presence in the country can lead to mandatory detention.
The US government has already allocated $45 billion for expanding ICE infrastructure, including increasing detention capacity to 100,000. According to Reuters, millions of people could be affected by these detentions in the near future.
Critics, including immigration lawyers and human rights activists, warn: The new practice undermines fundamental principles of justice and could destroy the lives of people who have long been rooted in the USA – with families, jobs, and children who are US citizens. There are already mass denials of bail in courts in states like New York and Georgia. This initiative is also expected to trigger a wave of lawsuits and legal proceedings.
