The temple of the holy martyr Paraskeva Pyatnitsa in the village of Russkoje Chodjaschewo was built in 1896. It was opened a year later, in 1897. The funds for its construction were donated by the community members. The community consisted of 220 households. The church members also included residents of the surrounding villages.

The first priest of the temple was 39-year-old priest Michail Jefimowitsch Grigorjew, who was ordained in 1886. The clergyman also taught at the church school. In 1899, a psalmist of the rank of deacon joined — Peter Konstantinowitsch Kedrow, 28 years old. The diocesan directory of 1904 states that the church was warm and impressive.

The two-storey church, crowned with a zinc dome, was visible from the nearby village — Tatarisches Chodjaschewo. The windows of the church were adorned with carved window frames.

During the Soviet era, the dome of the abandoned church collapsed. The dome of the bell tower has survived to this day, but there are concerns that it won't last much longer. The tilt of the building is constantly increasing.

The year the authorities closed the church is unknown. According to official data, there is no permanent population in Russkoje Chodyaschewo.

Last year, concerned people worked to preserve it. To be honest, the church had very little time left. It was very lucky to be saved in time!
