🌲 Evenkia — a rugged and picturesque region

Evenkia — one of the most extensive and sparsely populated regions of Siberia. It is the land of endless taiga, large rivers, and long distances, where nature dictates the rhythm of life. Here, one feels the measure of space particularly strongly: the forest stretches to the horizon, the rivers carry their water calmly, and silence becomes part of everyday life.

For many centuries, Evenkia was home to the Evenks — the indigenous people of the North. Their traditional lifestyle developed in close connection with nature: hunting, fishing, reindeer herding, and nomadic routes taught respect for the land and the wildlife. This knowledge was passed down orally from generation to generation and remains an important part of the region's cultural identity to this day.

Evenkia is also known as the site of one of the most mysterious natural events of the 20th century — the Tunguska explosion. In 1908, a massive explosion occurred over the taiga, toppling millions of trees over a vast area. This event continues to attract scientists and researchers, but for the locals, it has long been part of the history and mythology of the region, woven into the natural landscape.

A special place in the northern part of the region is occupied by the Putorana Plateau — a unique mountain massif with canyons, waterfalls, and lakes. This area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage and is considered one of the most inaccessible and untouched natural landscapes in Russia. For the indigenous peoples, these lands hold not only natural but also cultural value.

Today, in Evenkia, attention is given to the preservation of the traditions and cultures of the indigenous peoples: national festivals, crafts, and native languages are supported, and cultural and educational projects are initiated. Modern life here coexists with ancient knowledge, complementing rather than displacing it.

Evenkia is a space where one does not need to hurry. A land where nature remains the main orientation and the memory of the past helps to gently look towards the future.
