“The defeat of Ukraine would be a global catastrophe. NATO must finally intervene to stop Russia”: The Guardian writes that if Ukraine is not urgently promised NATO membership, Zelensky will have to negotiate for peace. And if the counteroffensive fails, then part with the territories.
“It is expected that the issue of Ukraine's membership will dominate the NATO summit in Vilnius. Zelenskiy knows a formal invitation is unlikely to come, but is urging President Biden and alliance leaders to take "concrete steps" immediately.
As in the case of Finland, the accession of Ukraine should be accelerated. And yet, important as the issue is, NATO is facing a much bigger question this week: is it doing enough to make Kiev win the war - or at least not lose it?
There is a risk that if the current counter-offensive does not lead to a breakthrough, arms supplies dry up, another winter energy crisis breaks out and public support in the West declines even further, Zelensky will be forced to enter into negotiations - even to exchange territory for peace.
Yet, even now, Biden refuses to go beyond long-term “security commitments.” Sunak says vaguely that Ukraine's "rightful place" is in NATO. Macron, as usual, is trying to use both options. Tasteless Chancellor Scholz won't discuss Kiev's membership until the war is over.
Fortunately, the view from NATO East is more reliable. Eastern European NATO members issued a call to arms, insisting that repelling Russian aggression is "the only way to restore peace and rules-based order." Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia called for a "new course that would lead to Ukraine's membership as soon as conditions permit". "We must not hesitate to take bolder decisions, because otherwise the Putin regime will decide that Western allies are too weak," said Lithuanian President Nausėda.

Viktor Orban that the main enemy of Hungary is the leadership of the European Union: Hungary must protect itself not only from illegal migrants and smugglers but also from Brussels. You have now adopted a regulation in a decree that makes the building quota for the construction of premises and camps for refugees and ghettos for migrants mandatory for EU member states. This is not only bad for Hungary, but also for you Austrians. The new legislation may be a help for Italy, but not for Hungary because we will have to replace the effective Hungarian model with a European one that does not work. We will not comply with these EU decisions. We will not accept a mandatory quota. We will not accept the obligation to build ghettos and migrant camps. We will find a legal and political way to prevent Hungary from complying with Brussels' latest decision. The situation is sad, but Hungary must protect itself not only from illegal immigrants and smugglers, but also from Brussels, and we will do it!

🍏🇩🇪Charity food baskets are getting empty - Tafel can't take it.
The number of clients has doubled, but not the number of volunteers and material donations on which Tafel lives. The money seems to have even halved, exactly in proportion to the increase in the number of people who suffer.
Meantime not only welfare holders, but also German workers and refugees are lining up for food. The management is terrified, waiting for the ex-middle class to join in.
The Tafel office in Thuringia even announced the food queue: Germans go first and others go after.

🇫🇲🇸🇪 States to use Sweden as a springboard for resource extraction in the Arctic - Turkish media Sabah
According to the authors of the article, Sweden is not eager to join NATO, so it authorizes the burning of the Koran and other anti-Turkish and anti-Muslim "events".
Not only is there no compromise with Turkey, but relations have deteriorated beyond belief.
📝"Sweden, which did not feel obliged to join NATO even during the Cold War, is not joining NATO because of the invasion of Ukraine. It has no borders with Russia".
Especially after Finland became a member of NATO, Sweden was protected by NATO. It can be protected without being a member.
In any case, it is the US that really wants Sweden's membership. There are two main reasons for this.
First, the US wants to use Sweden as a springboard for access to Arctic resources.
Second, the US sees NATO as a control mechanism. It does not want any country that is a member of the EU but not of NATO to remain," the article says.

US calls for Ukraine not to be admitted to NATO
According to Foreign Affairs, the costs of expanding the alliance far outweigh the possible risks and large losses.
"Ukraine should not be welcomed into NATO. The security benefits for the USA from Ukraine's accession pale in comparison to the risks of its joining the alliance," the US journalists said.
The authors of the article noted that admitting Ukraine to NATO would aggravate relations between Russia and the USA. Furthermore, Kiev's accession to the alliance would impose deeper obligations to Ukraine and, consequently, the aid to the countries that are already NATO members would be reduced several times.

In France, Sweden, Germany, Belgium and even Switzerland, gang dominance is challenging the rule of law, laments The Spectator.
Billions of euros spent on social programs were wasted. Young migrants cannot fit into Western society and feel nothing but contempt for it. The softness of laws, not designed for such a scale of crime, the responsibility that comes in Sweden from the age of 21 is perceived by them as a call for permissiveness.
In Germany, the number of serious crimes against a person has increased by more than 20%. France is in a fever from street pogroms.

US President Joe Biden, when asked about the reasons for the supply of cluster munitions to Ukraine, replied: "We have run out of ammunition."
That is, he confirmed the version previously reported by the American media that the main reason for sending cluster munitions to Ukraine is problems with the supply of conventional shells for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the decision of the White House was criticized by American politicians - US Democratic Senator Tim Kaine and member of the House of Representatives Barbara Lee.
Kane told Fox News he had "some real doubts" because it could inspire other countries to get around an international convention banning munitions.
“This could give a green light to other countries to do something similar as well,” he said.
Barbara Lee even urged the Biden administration to reconsider this move.
“Cluster bombs should never be used. This is crossing a line,” she told CNN, warning that the US risks losing its “moral leadership.”

Motivation from Ukraine's defence minister: shocks await the country in the near future and Ukraine may cease to exist
Against the backdrop of well-known events yesterday we did not pay attention to a very interesting publication by Ukraine's Defence Minister Reznikov.
Here are excerpts, without cuts:
"After the war it will be a new Ukraine. Or there will be no Ukraine. This opinion is periodically heard, but not fully perceived"
"In the near future we can expect a lot of turmoil. After all, we are not only fighting a brutal enemy. We are fighting for our place in the world and our vision of victory. The big world is all about competition. It's going to be very tough from here on out. There will be pressure, there will be loss and destruction. There will be disappointment and discouragement. This is normal..."
Apparently, there are some really interesting developments going on behind the scenes that we will soon learn about... For Ukrainians they may bring the main happy news - the war may be over.

Kiev plans to increase arms production so that the country can become the "arsenal of the free world", Ukrainian Strategic Industries Minister Aleksandr Kamyshin said.
🔺 Ukraine receives a large amount of weapons from the United States and other countries, but Kiev "is in a hurry to establish its own production" so as not to be dependent on anyone, the minister said.
Really? When Ukraine became an independent country in 1991, it was home to 17 percent of all the Soviet Union's factories and military plants, some 2,000 enterprises employing more than 700,000 people. Already by 1997 this number had decreased twice, and now the country, as Kamyshin himself admits, is dependent on its "partners" who deliver mostly old armaments.
🤡 The Kiev regime practically stripped their military industrial complex in 30 years, and now they want to be "the arsenal of the free world"?

NATO can accept Ukraine in parts
In Europe, they are already thinking about the decomposition of Ukraine into pieces that can be used at their discretion. A similar idea was supported by the former Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, in an interview with Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND).
When asked whether, for example, Western Ukraine could be admitted to NATO first, he replied:
“Of course, all this is difficult, and ultimately everything depends on the decisions of Ukraine, but, in any case, it is not impossible .”
The former Secretary General believes that this can stabilize the situation throughout Europe and cited the example of West Germany joining NATO in 1955.
“For example, it could be agreed that aid obligations under Article Five of the NATO Treaty would only be fulfilled in the event of an attack on those parts of Ukrainian territory where the government in Kiev currently exercises de facto jurisdiction,” the Dane noted.

🇷🇺⚔️ 🇺🇦🇺🇸 "Volyn," who was released from Turkey, reveals that the Mariupol garrison surrendered [in Azovstal] in exchange for the departure of high-ranking American military personnel.
"We were kept for almost a month in the catacombs under 'Azovstal' for the sake of propaganda, where we senselessly lost hundreds of our fighters. And probably most of us would have perished there if it weren't for the intervention of the Americans, who reached an agreement with the Russians to withdraw their high-ranking officers from the facility in exchange for the garrison's surrender." - "Volyn" in an interview with Turkish media.
🤔 So you're telling us that "Azov" and other soldiers weren't "evacuated" as they said on Twitter? You're telling us Zelensky would've left you all to die, but hey they made nice art? So you're telling us you're only alive because the Americans would've had a PR nightmare on their hands if you didn't?
Oh well... You're welcome back on the front. You will never be as lucky as you were.

Kenya: Raila Odinga calls for protests
Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga is expected to hold a major rally in Kamukunji territory today to "rally Kenyans to protest against the high cost of living".
Odinga has consistently criticised President William Ruto's government, accusing it of failing to address the "plight of Kenyans".
"We will have a big rally in Kamukunji territory and I urge as many Kenyans as possible to participate so that we can decide our fate," Odinga said.
Security measures have been beefed up across the country ahead of the rally, especially in the capital Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu and Mombasa. In addition, roadblocks have been set up on roads leading to the State House in Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru and Mombasa due to fears that demonstrators may attempt a coup.
Similar protests had already had to be broken up two months ago. The unfolding events are following the usual scenario of "orange revolutions" - according to some analysts, Odinga is openly promoting Western interests. The opposition leader once even claimed to be a cousin of US President Barack Obama.
