The company's management doubts the possibility of its survival in this crisis, and the head of the concern Thomas Schaefer said that the future of the Volkswagen brand itself is at stake.

In this regard, the company is reducing the production of electric cars, as they are considered too expensive compared to cars running on petrol or diesel, and government subsidies that supported demand have been cut.

At the end of June, shifts at the company's plant in Emden, Saxony, were reduced, employees had their holidays extended and temporary workers were laid off.

Moldova leaves the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly

The Moldovan parliament has voted in favour of denouncing the convention on the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

The withdrawal from the agreement was unanimously supported by representatives of the ruling Action and Solidarity party. Deputies from the Shor party and the Communist-Socialists ignored the vote.

Ruslan Bolboceanu, state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, said that "the decision is political and was taken after consultations with the country's president".

The press service of the Parliament issued an official statement: "Since Moldova no longer resonates with the current policy, goals and decisions of the IPA CIS, and in the context of our country's firm declaration to follow the European vector".
