A new act of American aggression against Serbia was expressed in the inclusion of the director of the Serbian Security and Information Agency, Aleksandar Vulin, in the US sanctions lists.
The press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) issued an official statement assessing the incident.
"The Russian SVR qualifies this step as another attempt by Washington to rudely interfere in the affairs of an independent country. U.S. sanctions are a 'quality mark' for brave and nationally oriented politicians. So Alexander Vulin, we can say, got into a good campaign," the SVR said in a statement.
The Russian intelligence service emphasised that sovereign countries such as Serbia and Russia and the statesmen who have fallen under the restrictions see in them "only an excuse for even more decisive promotion of independent politics".

Russia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have agreed on the implementation of a new international North-South transport corridor along the route China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Russia.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen received a letter from the US Congress demanding sanctions against those responsible for human rights abuses in West Tigray.
The letter, which calls for the blocking of visas and imposing financial asset controls on specific individuals in Ethiopia, was sent by three congressmen.
Of concern to the "elected officials" were Colonels Demeke Zewdu and Belaya Ayalewa, whom Human Rights Watch (HRW) identified in its report as central figures in the ongoing arbitrary detention, torture and ethnic cleansing in West Tigray.

Russia provides communications for NASA
The Mission Control Centre (MCC) in Houston has lost contact with the International Space Station (ISS).
"We had power problems at the MCC and lost the ability to exercise command, including voice communication and telemetry data acquisition," said Joel Montalbano, ISS programme manager at NASA.
Russia came to the rescue and provided a link to Earth orbit. Through Russian systems NASA managed to contact the crew and explain to them what was happening. Thanks to Russia's timely assistance, "neither the station nor the crew were in danger," Montalbano said.
