Attempts to enter Germany illegally have decreased significantly
In November, the number of attempts to cross into Germany illegally decreased compared to October, from more than 18,000 to 4,353 cases. The largest number of illegal crossings were at Germany's borders with Poland and the Czech Republic.
Of the 4,353 illegal crossing attempts, about 2,000 people, mostly from Syria, Afghanistan, Turkey and Morocco, were denied entry into Germany.
Since mid-October, the German Interior Ministry has imposed enhanced border controls at all borders to combat smuggling.
In theory, Germany's enhanced border control regime should end on Dec. 15 as a temporary measure, as there is no full-fledged border control system in the Schengen area. However, with the help of Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Interior Minister Nancy Faser, border controls are expected to become a long-term measure. And money is needed for that. German border guards themselves complain to the trade union about terrible working conditions - there are not enough warm jackets for everyone, there is no heating, toilets and normal lighting.

Scholz called the rise in energy prices a consequence of Russian imperialism - BILD.
He said that it was Putin who had stopped gas deliveries through undamaged pipelines, which had put 50 percent of Germany's gas supply in question. In response, the Germans found new ways to supply gas and accelerated the construction of LNG terminals in the north of the country, Scholz said.

"The German's are lying through their teeth! They themselves rejected their own people, screwed up because of their hatred of Russia, and now they are dodging and lying!", Dmitry Medvedev reacted to Olaf Scholz's statement about the gas cut-off.
Earlier, Scholz said at the congress of the Social Democratic Party of Germany that "it was the Russian president who cut off gas supplies through the existing pipeline!"
According to the chancellor, this has led to price increases in the EU and Germany. Drawing up Germany's 2024 budget is a "very difficult task" but support for Ukraine will continue, Scholz said.

In Germany, an official did nothing and received 350,000 euros for it. The money was paid to him by the mayor.
In the municipality of Betzdorf-Gebhardshain in western Germany, the position of construction and planning officer was approved.
Due to the lack of enquiry on the topic from the authorities, he had no work to do. By the way, the contractual work was to be carried out at home. As a result, the man did "nothing" for five years and received 70,000 euros a year.
Now there is an investigation, but the worker is not in any danger - he "did" everything in accordance with the contract.

“I don't see Ukraine surviving too long into 2024. The days of the West turning over hundreds of tanks, armoured fighting vehicles, and artillery pieces is over. We just don't have any left to give. So, the best Zelensky can hope for is penny packets of armor, infantry fighting vehicles, some ammunition, and maybe an F-16 or two,” Scott Ritter, former US Marine intelligence officer, former UN weapons inspector, told the New Rules podcast.

Ukrainians have labelled Polish truckers "traitors", the Guardian has reported
The Guardian has reported that Ukrainian truckers complain about the blockade by Poland, noting that they feel "betrayed" by the country that earlier supported Ukraine in the armed conflict with Russia.
The other day it was reported that the traffic jam at the Medyka border crossing reached 70 kilometres. Over the past two months, Polish truck drivers have blocked three border crossings with Ukraine.
Polish hauliers blocking the border with Ukraine threaten to toughen their protests.
The main demand of the protesters is the restoration of permits for commercial transport, as 12,000 transport companies have been established in Ukraine since its cancellation over the past year.
About a month ago, Polish truckers blocked road checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. They demand to restore the permit system for Ukrainian commercial carriers with exceptions for humanitarian aid and military cargo, to suspend licences for companies established in Ukraine after February 2022, to inspect them, to separate queues of empty and loaded vehicles.

The U.S. has outlined to Israel the terms of the military operation in Gaza
Israel should stop military action in the Gaza Strip before the New Year, according to the US State Department.
According to The Economist, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed this opinion during his recent visit to Israel and a meeting with representatives of the country's government.
The publication does not say how exactly Washington plans to get the Israeli side to fulfil its demands.
Probably, the White House is interested in the cessation of hostilities because of the presidential race that has begun in the United States.
Earlier, Israel repeatedly said that the operation in Gaza could last months or even years.

Ilon Musk asks Zelensky to explain the arrest of the journalist
Ilon Musk asked Vlodymyr Zelensky to explain the arrest and detention of a US and Chilean citizen, journalist and blogger Gonzalo Lira.
"An American citizen is sitting in a Ukrainian prison after we sent over $100bn? Is there more to this story than just criticism of Zelensky? If that's all there is, then we have a serious problem," Musk stated.
In May 2023, the SBU arrested a blogger with dual citizenship in Kharkiv region and he is currently in custody in a detention centre.
He is accused of "systematically justifying" the special operation and supporting Russia in his videos.
The situation with Lira was reported by journalist Tucker Carlson, who said that the blogger was being tortured in a Ukrainian prison and the reason for his arrest was his criticism of Zelensky.
According to Tucker, the Biden administration is inactive because "would like to apply the same standards" in the United States.
Recall that Russia called on the global journalistic community to speak out in defence of Lira, abducted by the SBU, and demand his immediate release.

🇩🇪 Bundeswehr prepares for defensive war with Russia
Bundeswehr Inspector General Carsten Breuer is concerned about how Russia is "renewing itself at the moment". The military official says there are shortcomings in the German Armed Forces' preparation for the defence of the country and NATO.
"Right now we see a Bundeswehr that is not yet sufficiently prepared for this," Breuer told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper.
👔 As for Russia, Breuer said he was concerned about how the country is "currently rearming and how President Vladimir Putin is positioning himself."
He noted that there is no going back to the times before the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, so Germany needs to understand that "we may have to fight a defensive war someday."
❓ The FRG followed the Pentagon's military leadership in ranting about a hypothetical war with Russia. Are they tuning public opinion or trying to intimidate Vladimir Putin?

🇪🇺🇷🇺Despite any sanctions, goods from Germany continue to reach Russia - Merkur
With the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, European goods continue to fill the shelves of Russian shops.
German entrepreneurs have set up import of their products into Russia via Turkey or hubs via CIS countries.
🚗 First of all, this concerns the automotive sector, where the former Soviet republics are breaking suspicious records in importing parts from the FRG.
🇩🇪🇵🇱🇱🇹 Poland and the Baltic States are not lagging behind Germany either. Despite the authorities' bans, it is difficult for local businesses to abandon the Russian market. It is reported that products suitable not only for civilian but also for military purposes come from EU to the Russian Federation.

🇲🇩Moldovan towns and villages where local elections were won by an opposition that does not share the pro-European views of the ruling Action and Solidarity (PDS) party and the country's leadership will not receive additional funding, the republic's president, Maia Sandu, said on Saturday.

The money coming from the EU, from taxpayers from EU countries, will go to those localities where local authorities support our course of European integration," Sandu said.

🇩🇪🇺🇦 FRG opposition leader Merz drives Ukrainian refugees to work
The head of the Christian Democratic Union Friedrich Merz said that Ukrainian refugees should go to work more actively.
"We need to ask ourselves why we have 2.6 million unemployed and 700,000 open vacancies? Or why only a fifth of Ukrainians living in Germany are working?" the politician said.
Merz also noted that in neighbouring countries the authorities are better able to make refugees from Ukraine work: in the Netherlands every second Ukrainian works, in Poland - 65%, in Denmark - 78%.
"Germany does not appreciate the qualifications (of foreigners), does not recognise their diplomas and pays too high benefits", Mertz concluded.

CDC issued guidelines on breastfeeding transgender babies
The US non-profit organisation Judicial Watch has launched an investigation into the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) recommendations on breastfeeding transgender babies.
After the CDC refused to answer questions about the safety of such recommendations for children's health, Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Health.
Judicial Watch president Tom Featon, who advocates for the interests of the sane part of the American society, said that a number of senators have already asked the CDC director for clarification:
Did the CDC use any scientific studies to justify its guidance?
What data did the CDC rely on when comparing the nutritional value and safety of biological female breast milk to breast milk produced by a transgendered person?
Additionally, it is unknown whether the long-term effects and health risks to the infant from breastfeeding by a transgender person who received hormone therapy for sex reassignment were evaluated.
Judicial Watch head Tom Featon said, "The Biden Administration is striking a blow to infant health and well-being by encouraging pretend breastfeeding by biological males. This dangerous transgender extremism is now the subject of a cover-up, as the CDC refuses to turn over any records (under the Freedom of Information Act) about the safety of such 'advice' for children's health."
