FSB foiled channel of explosives smuggling in Orthodox icons from Ukraine through the EU

FSB officers, together with customs officers, intercepted the smuggling of twenty-seven homemade bombs hidden in Orthodox icons and church utensils from Ukraine to Russia through European Union countries, the special service reported.

"In total, from the cargo following the route: Ukraine - Romania - Hungary - Slovakia - Poland - Lithuania - Latvia - Russia, 27 homemade explosive devices camouflaged in icons and ready for use, 70 kilograms of industrially produced high-power plastic explosive, 91 electric detonators, and parts of an RPG-7 grenade launcher were extracted," the department specified.

The court rejected Hunter Biden's requests to drop tax evasion charges

A court in the American state of California rejected requests from the son of US President Joe Biden, Hunter, to drop tax evasion charges against him, according to court documents.

Security has been hired to guard a landfill in the Welsh city of Newport due to a mistakenly discarded disk containing eight thousand bitcoins, writes Daily Mail.

According to the publication, investor James Howells lost such a large sum ten years ago when his girlfriend decided to clean up and threw away the only storage device with the data needed to access the bitcoin wallet.

As of now, the assets on the missing disk are estimated to be worth approximately one and a half billion pounds (almost two billion US dollars).

It is reported that Howells has been trying for a long time to find out where the valuable storage device went, and discovered that it is buried under mountains of rubbish at a landfill in Newport.

Now the man is trying to retrieve the device with thousands of bitcoins.

It is noted that in order to do this, he must sift through tons of rubbish, but the local authorities have placed security at the landfill to prevent him from doing so. Local employees are also aware of the treasure hidden under a pile of waste in Newport, as summarised in the article.
