Can software under GPLv3 be sold?

I've been discusing this for an hour with an IT friend, he says it's not allowed to sell software under GPLv3 without any modification. I said him many times it's allowed and showed him what gnu says about.

Hardcore Windows user here, Installed Debian 10 on my actual computer for the first time and currently trying it out.

Going to keep this short

I have messed around with Linux distros on VM, but let's forget about that. Using Linux via Virtual Machine sucks if you don't have a fast computer that handles Virtualization. Personally I recommend Dual-booting instead.

I went with Debian 10 simply because it was the only one that can fit on a 1GB Flash drive while most distros are bigger than 2GB.

So far, my experience has been quite good (despite been using it for 2 days) I have encountered some bugs (which are easily forgiven) and some problems (in which i'm still in progress of fixing at the moment, quite educational).

I'm not going to state these problems or bugs (as I don't want to ruin the surprise) I'll be doing a detailed post regarding my experience with Desktop Linux as a Hardcore Windows user on somewhere between December or January. stay tuned for that.

Best Automated Post-Install Setup Script/Project

Hi everyone,

I am tired to spend so much time setting up a new machine after a fresh install an am exploring some options to automate most of my setup (package installs, sane settings configuration, installation of my dotfiles, and so on...).

Does anyone have recommendations about this? I am pretty sure there already exists some kind of project which helps to perform this task. I found this one already: [https://github.com/snwh/ubuntu-post-install](https://github.com/snwh/ubuntu-post-install). I am also aware of tools like Chef, or Ansible which could be used to this purpose.

What is your preferred way to setup a machine how you like it after a fresh install? Ideally, I think a bash noscript with no dependencies needed would be the best. I am using Ubuntu.

Adding self signed certificate to trusted certificates

I'm trying to add a self signed cert to the trusted certificates so I can add my nextcloud drive onto nautilus. I've tried a couple things such as copying it to /usr/share/ca-certificates and then updating ca-certificates, but that did not work. And there is not many other methods that I've found searching the web.

Setup: Fedora 30, gnome desktop
