EBA (Eğitim Bilişim Ağı) support for Linux! (Technically)
Hello everyone! I made a EBALinux for the Turkish students who take online classes on this platform. The original program unfortunately forget Linux so I made a application with nativefier using npm. You will just need zoom and this application. This app will direct you to a lesson. Here is GitHub page link. However this project only supports Debian and Arch Linux for now. I might add RHEL support. Have good day everyone!

I want to dive into Linux
So, Hello there.
I know that linux is... kinda cool; I think I will love it.
But the thing is that, I don't know enough about the operating softwares in general, and my curiosity is not satisfied.
So I decided to discover by using a linux distro.
But I don't know where to start to learn basic things about linux, I thought about starting by using Debian (tho I was already messing around with tails.)
And I come to this subreddit for advice, to learn useful things, basic things and become a linux fan that knows what he's talking about.
Thanks for any help.

Which file system do you use, and why?
I have always used ext4 whenever I've used Linux. Lately, I have considered the use of other file systems. BTRFS seems like the stand out choice, at least to me.
What file systems do you guys use, and what drove you to make the change?

Joined the Linux Train! (HP 600B)
So, there was an old PC from 2013 sitting uselessly on my living room's desk (name: HP 600B). It worked, but it lagged really bad because Windows 10 was installed on it. You couldn't even browse the internet without lags. After backing up my important files, i tried to install Linux Mint, and it finally works without lags right now! Fascinating what Linux could do to old PCs.

Wireless interface not detected on Kali Linux (Win 10)
Hello,
I am very new to the linux (kali linux) community, so I cannot find a way to fix this myself. Running ifconfig will show eth0 and lo, but not wlan0, despite being connected to wifi. Even when I disconnect ethernet and run on wifi only, it still does not show wlan0. Tools like airmon-ng will not detect wifi either. Any fixes?

Can I make a Linux distribution licensed under the a license other than GPL?
Can I make a Linux distribution licensed under the a license other than GPL? It would still be open source and free, but the new license wouldn't allow anyone except me to distribute the end product (e.g. only the source would be available).
Would this be legal, or do I have to use my own BSD/Mach-esc kernel?

Is there any linux program that can backup my packages in order to reconfigure my system when i format my pc?
I use lots of machines and from time to time i end up formatting my pc (either because of distro hopping or just because i changed machines). Having a fast way to manage my packages (just as when you retrieve data when you change from one smartphone to another) would be very useful.

Switching From MacOS to Linux
Okay, I'm finally making the switch after lots of waffling. Here's where I need help.
I have Ubuntu installed and all is fine but I have nearly 1TB of data on my Mac plus some backups.
* I need to transfer this data to disks that Ubuntu can read and is encrypted.
* I'd rather not install any programs I don't absolutely have to on Ubuntu.
* Suggestions for how best to do this without any data loss?
Thanks in advance!
p.s. In case anyone from the Apple world is curious as to why. The final straw is me just wanting to reinstall MacOS (from a usb drive) on the MBP that I paid $2,600 for and Activation Lock preventing it. I got it all handled but what a PITA. I mean, I can't sit in my home and reinstall the way I want without connecting to the internet? Anyway, sorry for the rant.

dvd vs usb burning/what do you prefer to use?
i prefer dvd tbh as i have had about 3 usb drives die (did last long tho) tho it does go a bit slower at times but is a lot better and cheaper.
dvd pros:
1.can get a lot for cheap and if you dont have a burner thay are also
2.last a long time
3.good if you want to try or just have curtain distros on hand
4.more likely to burn right
5.harder to lose as its bigger
cons of dvd:
1.most are 1 time burn meaning if iso was bad its also bad and can't be fixed (most the time)
2.dose take more space
pros of usb:
1.smaller
2.lot faster
3.more portable
4.more programs for burning (tho still a lot for dvds)
5.can be used on more computers if you dont have an extural dvd drive
cons of usb:
1.can die from to many burns
2.can be lost as they are small most the time
3.can cost a bit compared a dvds (10$ can get you one usb but 10 or 15 dvds)

i think it kinda depends on what you use if you just need one distro or don't want to use others or need others then yea a usb would be good but if you have mutable uses or want some or incase you brake your install and need a different distro or even just to have them dvds would be better

Looking for running an Android app on ARM64 Linux environment?
I recently setup a Kali Linux arm64 aka aarch64 in a VM (not the regular x86 one, cuz I have ARM hardware). wanna know if it's possible to run android apps (natively) inside it.
I tried Anbox but it just failed to load. not sure if it's designed only for x86 OSs or just not support inside a VM.
anyways, let me know your suggestions and other thoughts as well. I'm quite new to Linux. as well as to Reddit 😋
Cheers!!

Use a GoPro as webcam on Linux (without additional hardware)
The support for the newly added webcam mode for the GoPro(8&9) is pretty poor on Linux. I found some tutorials out there that describe the rough steps, but always require some personal adaptions. To simplify this and to get en par with Windows, I created this noscript. Enjoy!

If you find any bugs or just have an enhancement request, feel free to open an issue on GitHub or just simply post it here.
