Why LG and Sony failed to be able to compete with Samsung in the smartphone/android market, while this wasn't a problem in other markets (like cameras, TVs and audio)?

Those 3 companies are conglomerates with many divisions, but one common problem is how the smartphone division of both LG and Sony were bleeding money year after year, while Samsung managed to become the leader of the smartphone market....

DEV 159 PRO Keys - Happy late Pi day! I made an app that gives Android 100+ volume steps! (Precise Volume: Anniversary 2.0 Update)

Note: I tried posting this 2 days ago (on actual Pi day) but things didn't work out with getting reviewed by the moderators in time. I still have all these keys though and need to give them away!

Hi Reddit! Happy (late) Pi day! On Pi day 7 years ago, I released my app, Precise Volume. It was even posted here to /r/Android. It got its start right here.

My app forces Android to have more volume steps than the default...

After Recent Update, Google Removed All Options To Share Links That DONT Include .amp

(Update on 3/13 . Samsung phone.)
As you probably know, Google steals ad revenue from sites you share by hijacking the cached web pages and inserting their own ads. That why you sometimes see the .AMP Bot, suggesting that you don't use them. So I always just "copy the URL" from the "Share" drop down menu.

Today that option is gone, AND the "Copy" icon now includes the .amp. I had to copy text from the artice and search in on DuckDuckGo.

Thought you should know.

Small phones are not dead and we did not kill them. Unihertz and Qin still make quality small phones

Unihertz has the jelly star which is a cute little LED lights phone which is popular with a small section. They also have the amazing Titan series with keyboards.

Qin smartphones are also getting popular with /r/dumbphones community. These are great alternatives for those seeking small phones. Of course, you might not get all apps but who cares, you'll manage. I am cur...

System apps that could be uninstalled without breaking any functionality in Samsung devices

I was trying to debloat my Samsung A14 5G device without root using Canta and Shizuku. While trying to find safe apps to remove, I couldn't find any articles online listing bloated apps in OneUI so made one myself, sort of.

Listed below all the apps I could uninstall without harming any functionality of Android. I have been using this device for a week and I haven't found any break, in fact it's more responsive now. I ...

(Mockup) Native Multiple Audio Sources Volume Panel

https://imgur.com/a/pEIf8Vc

Hopefully there will be support for Multiple Audio Sources natively on Android in the future, but I imagine it is not in Google's priority list, or we could have had it way earlier. Anyway, I am a beginner in Illustrator so don't judge my skills. :)...

Switching back to S23 Ultra after a week with the Oneplus 12

I got the Oneplus 12 because of its DC dimming and higher PWM at lower brightness, but after a week with it, I was itching to switch back to my S23 Ultra. Thoughts:

Negatives:
1) Nova Launcher doesn't work smoothly with gesture controls, there's a noticeable lag when I swipe to home. I thought it won't be a big deal, but couldn't stand it after a few days.

2) I miss the One Hand Application app for Samsung, that gave me a bunch of side of the screen gesture actions. I tried a few apps off the...
