All these techniques are, most probably, to take us from Beta State (normal waking state) to the Alpha State (Meditative State).

Many ancient doctrines emphasize on ceasing the hyperactive mental activity in order to "see God". We could interpret in our own way: to "exit this parasite Metaverse".
