📈The number of people displaced globally has reached an estimated 114 million - a historical record, reports the UN. It has increased by 5.6 million from the end of last year.

The main drivers of the displacement are conflicts, humanitarian crises and natural disasters. The major state-hosts are Iran and Turkey with 3.4 million each; and Germany and Colombia with 2.5 million each.

Yesterday interesting statistic data was published in the British press. It turns out that in 2022, the average Briton in a week consumed only 0.854 kg (1.88 lb) of meat a week. And a year earlier, there was a figure of 0.976 kg (2.15 lb) a week.

And this is due in part to the sharp rise in prices around the world (and not just in Russia, as Russians think. For example, our friends both in Europe and in Israel have complained that over the past year, food prices have also risen very strongly).

At the same time, the British publication goes on to say that this is an absolute anti-record for the entire time such statistics have been tracked (since the 1970s).

And it is meat consumption that has always been considered almost the most important criterion for assessing the prosperity of families.

Here is statistics on meat consumption in Russia. In 2022 it amounted to 1.527 kg (3.37 lb) a week (based on 52 weeks a year). And this is almost 2 times higher than in the UK.

At the same time, the consumption of this product is constantly growing in Russia and at the end of this year it is expected that this figure will grow even more.
