Church, Drag Queens and children – is it now a common occurrence in US?

The video with a priest, preaching to children ‘the new values’ in church in the presence of a drag queen has outraged many viewers. A pastor at United Methodist Church in Florida invited a man dressed in women’s clothing to a preach a sermon with children seated next to him.

‘One of the things I think is great about Miss Pentecost,’ says the priest, referring to the drag queen in a high slit sequin dress, ‘is that she reminds us that we follow a God, who calls on us to not conform to things of this world. That we first be transformed by the renewal of our minds.’ As it turns out, the drag is standing as a candidate to become a priest himself. So, now even the church is used to promote LGBTQ propaganda. Would you send your children to this progressive sermon?

Watch our documentary Pride and Piety and share your opinion.

A robot android named Ameca works in Dubai as a greeter at the Museum of the Future.

Ameca is said to be the most humanoid robot in the world. It uses state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to answer questions. Thanks to sensors, the robot reacts to movements and gestures. The humanoid can wonder, rejoice and feel anger. It even has a sense of humour.

The Museum of the Future wants to hire an entire team of these interns. Yet some fear that robots will eventually replace humans in the workplace, and it’s already happening more and more often in different professions. So what happens next? The first part of the series The Future is Now (2020) discusses that.

Ghosts: Soldiers of a Forgotten War | Part 1

‘Any war is monstrous. It’s just that sometimes the alternative to war is even worse. We have such a situation right now.’

These are the words of one of the most famous commanders of the Donbass militia, Aleksey Markov, codenamed 'Nice Guy'. Since 2014, even those who had never held a gun before - miners, teachers, engineers - volunteered for his 'Ghost' Battalion. For three years (from 2018 to 2021), Donbass documentary filmmakers Maxim Fadeev and Sergey Belous from Realdoc Productions, put together a film about them. By the time the film was released, many of the militiamen were no longer alive. In 2020, 'Nice Guy' died.

Today we are premiering the first part of the film Ghosts: Soldiers of a Forgotten War. Part two is coming tomorrow.

Footage shows hundreds rallying in Rome against anti-Russian sanctions, high energy bills and arms deliveries to Ukraine.

We say no. Zelensky doesn’t seem to want to stop. This only leads us to the risk of a third world war,’ says Alvaro, one of the protesters. He, together with other Italians, went to show their discontent with the government’s decision.

Anti-Russian sanctions have severely hit Italy as well as other European countries. Italians are enraged their government forces them to live in the current conditions: ‘To have shower with a couple, to lower the radiator, to put on a coat, to have nothing on and you will be happy… But you, not them!’

Why do countries which impose sanctions on Russia suffer from them themselves? Listen to experts to know in Sanctions: Boomerang Effect.

Kenya Sexploited

‘We had sex at midnight, morning hours. She gave me money which I spent on my family. I was 20 years old.’

Ali Salim, a native of Kenya, had an affair with a German woman when he was already married and had children. But he says his wife was not jealous as she understood it’s the only way to survive and keep their children fed.

Poverty and a lack of jobs drive young men in Kenya to work as gigolos for older European women. It’s almost impossible to find any other job here, so men, even those who are underage, go to the beach in search of clients.

On International Day for the Eradication of Poverty we post Kenya Sexploited. See Ali Salim’s and other boys’ stories there. What do you think can help them to escape poverty?

US congressional candidate starred in porn on campaign trail.

Mike Itkis is pushing for the legalisation of sex work and has promoted his views in action. The candidate, who is running as a liberal independent, released a video of himself having sex with Nicole Sage, an adult movie star, saying he wants to show his commitment to sex positivity.

‘If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue,’ commented Itkis. ‘I’m very much an introvert. But I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important.’

Itkis’ campaign page states he opposes ‘the conservative idea that sex should only happen between a man and a woman who are married to each other.’ On the contrary, he says he is dedicated to making sexual rights explicit by ‘ending adultery laws’ and ‘decriminalizing and legalizing sex work.’

Do you think it’s an effective campaign or it’s too much?

Ghosts: Soldiers of a Forgotten War | Part 2

Yesterday we posted the first part of Ghosts: Soldiers of a Forgotten War. Here’s the sequel.

The second part features scout platoon leader Alexandr Melnichenko, codenamed ‘Negro’. He said that while on leave from military service he felt strange, as if he came from another planet. It took him a while to switch from war to a peaceful life. The year was 2019, one of his last shoots. In May 2020, ‘Negro’ died, defending Kirovsk (LPR).

The authors, Donbass documentary filmmakers Maxim Fadeev and Sergey Belous from Realdoc Productions, started working on the documentary back in 2018. It took them three years to finish the film. It's a powerful work, see for yourself.

‘What Europe supports should stay in Europe’

This is the caption that appears at the end of a viral cartoon describing the desire of Ukraine to enter the EU.

The cartoon features a pig with swastikas on its body symbolizing Ukraine and a bear standing for Russia. The pig is shown running away from the bear towards the European Union. It knocks and gains admittance. Upon its arrival, the pig disturbs the public order with acts of vandalism. The cartoon shows some real photos of historical monuments painted with blue and yellow and carrying the innoscriptions ‘Azov’ and ‘Ukraine’. Eventually, the pig is thrown out of the gates to the feet of the bear, who takes it back inside the gates of the EU.

The authors of the video are anonymous. What is your opinion of the message of this cartoon?

UK activists trigger outrage over spilt milk and trashed shops

Animal right campaigners have enraged net users and British shoppers with their latest protest. Several people were seen in shops around the UK pouring milk onto products and on the floor. Have a look at their ‘Milk pour’ protest in our video.

Through their actions, activists hoped to draw attention to the problem of climate change and economic crisis. They operate on the belief that plant-based products are cheaper and their usage will bring benefit to all.

However, their protest sparked resentment among many. One user wrote: ‘Who are they to decide what I eat?’, while another added: ‘I find your behaviour absolutely disgusting and in no way acceptable.’ Some said they couldn't understand why the activists waste products when poverty rates are so high.

Indeed, the economic situation in the UK remains unstable, thanks in part to anti-Russian sanctions that the country imposed. Our documentary Sanctions: Boomerang Effect explains why sanctions backfired.

Is it really an appropriate time to waste food?

What happened to Nord Stream 1 pipeline?

Swedish newspaper Expressen has revealed that at least 50 meters of pipe from Nord Stream 1 was either destroyed or buried under the seafloor. An underwater camera was used to document the damage.

Some assume that only an extreme force could wreck such thick metal - the outer diameter of the pipes being 1.4 metres.

Although the pipelines were not in operation, they contained gas prior to the explosions. Swedish authorities said an inspection of the site increased their suspicions of sabotage.

Demining Donbass

Mines are everywhere: in the streets, in the branches of trees and on the roofs of houses. The Ukrainian army has been shelling Donetsk with ‘petal’ mines for months. The devices are difficult to distinguish among the leaves, and explode at the slightest pressure. As the Ukrainian soldiers retreated, they mined everything: schools, hospitals, and residential buildings.

Sappers risk their lives every day to make the city safe again. They say it’s scary sometimes: ‘You think, God forbid if your children will be blown up by them.’

How is the clean-up operation going? Watch the premiere of Demining Donbass and find out.

Parkour trend delivers Paris darkness.

Dozens of practitioners of parkour have been creating quite a stir in Paris, climbing walls and pipes in an effort to turn off lights that stores leave on all night. This way the French athletes remind shopkeepers that the government is urging everyone to save energy.

Though the ‘Lights Off’ campaign started in France two years ago, in recent months it has become more resonant. After imposing its anti-Russian sanctions France is experiencing an energy crisis. If weeks ago people went on peaceful protests over the rising costs of living, these days the rallies have become noticeably more aggressive, to the point that the police have resorted to teargas. Meanwhile, with the French taking to the streets instead of working, the city’s infrastructure suffers: there’re problems with public transport and some gas stations were shut down.

The dire results of anti-Russian sanctions were predicted months ago by experts. In our documentary, they reveal why the European countries’ ‘weapon’ hit their own people and economy. Watch Sanctions: Boomerang Effect.

British demand Truss’ resignation amid meme storm

Just six weeks after taking office, the UK Prime Minister is facing calls to resign from within her own Conservative Party.

High energy bills, skyrocketing food prices, inflation… experts blame the crisis on poor decisions by Truss and her Cabinet that led to the country’s instability. UK markets have lost $500 billion since she came to power. Truss, however, claims the country is facing an energy crisis because of ‘Putin’s war’.

Nevertheless, Truss on Monday apologized for her mini-budget that crashed the country’s currency and rattled financial markets, but said she has no plans to resign. Still, many assume that Truss will be forced to leave office long before the next election. Net users responded to the serious news with a batch of creative and humorous memes. Have a look at the best ones in our post.

Note: If Truss resigns before the end of this year, it would make her the shortest serving UK PM in history.

In Vietnam, as the result of its lengthy war with the United States (1955-1975), children are born today with severe defects. During that military campaign, the Americans used a toxic defoliant known as Agent Orange to destroy forests where Vietcong guerrilla fighters were taking cover.

Half a century has passed, but the consequences are still being felt. About five million Vietnamese suffer from chronic diseases. Look at their stories in our clip.
