Despite his young age, he was forced to take up arms and fight in a civil war. The country’s bloody conflict broke out in 2012 and took thousands of lives. Militant guerrilla groups recruited orphaned kids and taught them to kill.

None of the women he victimised knew his real name; he introduced himself to each of them with a unique pseudonym: Alexey Seryogin, Ivan Makeev, Alexey Kleshchev, Alexander Kovalyov... But Dmitry Frolov’s most significant and dangerous feature was his high level of emotional intelligence. Psycholinguists note that marriage swindlers like Frolov have the ability to instantly analyze and understand a person and their weaknesses. He adjusts his speech pattern and behaviour to engender the illusion of genuine feelings. In essence, he tricks women to fall in love, so that the victims trust him completely.
