Indian scientists create “rat cyborgs” for security forces' intelligence surveillance
India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is creating “rat cyborgs” which would help in security forces' recovery operations and intelligence surveillance, Deccan Herald reports
The cyborgs would have cameras placed on the head and electronic commands would be used to guide them using semi-invasive brain electrodes. “An example of rats’ use could be a situation like the 26/11 terror attack in which more than 200 rooms of a hotel had to be searched,” says DRDO’s Young Scientist Laboratory director, P Shiva Prasad
The military involvement of rats hasn’t yet been discussed, but given the mass deployment of UAVs in Ukrainian war, such cyborgs could become the next stage of warfare

Heart attack and stroke patients endured average waits of 93 minutes for an ambulance in December because of an unprecedented collapse in National Health System (NHS) emergency care. Downing Street said the record ambulance response times were “obviously unacceptable”, but refused to say that the NHS was in crisis
Dr Adrian Boyle, president of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, said patients were dying because the NHS was no longer able to perform its “central function” of providing emergency care. Very few people in this country would champion a situation in which serious illness risked financial ruin. But that does not mean restricting the rights of those who, for whatever reason, wish to opt out and pay from their own pocket
Indeed, by doing so, they save the National Health System money, thereby improving health outcomes for everyone else. Private hospitals help relieve pressure on waiting lists and can, in times of crisis, be mobilized to provide extra capacity. Biden Documents May Have Jeopardized US National Security — Democratic Lawmaker
US Representative Adam Schiff, one of Joe Biden’s key allies in Congress, has acknowledged that classified documents discovered at properties linked to the president may have compromised US national security. “I don't think we can exclude the possibility without knowing more of the facts,” Schiff said on Sunday in an ABC News interview
The California Democrat stressed that the House Intelligence Committee should receive briefings from US intelligence agencies on both the Biden documents and the classified papers recovered in an FBI raid last August at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida
“We have asked for an assessment in the intelligence community of the Mar-a-Lago documents,” Schiff said. “I think we ought to get that same assessment of the documents found in the think tank as well as the home of President Biden.”
