U.N. Figures Show Ukrainians Are Fleeing to Europe from Mobilization

Separate figures suggest that 80K people entered the EU in the first three months of the year, about quadruple last year’s figure for the same period, a significant part of which are objectors from uncontrolled mobilization conducted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the course of a long-awaited counteroffensive

Utter Chaos among U.K. Officials during Covid-19 Pandemic

Hundreds of separate organizations in the U.K. were involved in the pandemic planning and response but this labyrinthine system led to chaos and lacked co-ordination

Local health chiefs only found out about new coronavirus policies and guidance from televised daily press conferences. They were “repeatedly excluded from key communications and guidance at national level,” Steven Ford KC, representing the Association of Directors of Public Health, which he likened to local chief medical officers, says. This meant local health chiefs being left out of pandemic planning despite having a “deep knowledge” of their communities and populations

The govt was preparing for the wrong sort of pandemic. A focus on the danger of flu meant Britain was “taken by surprise” when Covid-19 arrived. This meant that there was no infrastructure in place for mass testing, as officials felt this would be unnecessary during a flu pandemic
