قال أحد السلف : كلما زاد حزبي من القرآن، زادت البركة في وقتي ، ولا زلت أزيد حتى بلغ حزبي عشرة أجزاء

One of the Salaf (righteous predecessors) said:

"Whenever my portion of reciting the Qur'ān would increase, the Barakah (blessings) in my time would increase. And I would not cease increasing in reciting until the amount of my recitation reached ten Juz."

Imām Ibnul Qayyim [رحمه الله] said:

“Whoever finds their joy in Ṣalah in this life, will find their joy in being close to Allāh in the Hereafter, and will also find his joy in Allāh in this world. Whoever find his joy in Allāh will be content with everything, and whoever does not find his joy in Allāh, will be destroyed by his feelings of grief and regret for worldly matters.”

Be The Key To Goodness And Not Evil 🗝

The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said:

“Indeed, from amongst mankind are those who are KEYS to GOODNESS (and) LOCKS to EVIL and indeed from amongst mankind are those who are KEYS to EVIL (and) LOCKS to GOODNESS,

So GLAD-TIDING to the one for whom Allāh has placed the keys of goodness in his hands and WOE to the one for whom Allāh has placed the keys of evil in his hands.”

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaimīn [رحمه الله] said:

❝It is only right that a person be optimistic, feeling happy about the good he sees [in things]; and he should not look at the life lying ahead of him in this world as dark and dismal so that he becomes weary [of life] and loses hope.❞

Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhalī ‏( ﺭﺣﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ‏) :
❝Friendship does not require silence towards a mistake that a friend or brother falls into. Rather he should alert him immediately (about the mistake), such is an actual brother and a friend who is true in his friendship. As for he who remains silent, then indeed he has not recognised the obligatory right upon him towards his Muslim brothers and sisters.❞

Who Is A Friend?...
Shaykh Ibn Ghālib Al 'Umarī ( ﺣﻔﻈﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ) said,
❝A friend is not he who agrees to your habits, mannerism or character, or who absolutely supports your choice, or who offers you worldly support which increases your wealth. Your friend is he who is truthful to you in his love, and he is your friend in his advice and his admonishment.❞

The Meaning of al-Taṣfiyah

Al-taṣfiyah, according to Shaykh Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn Al-Albānī, is “the work of returning to the pure Islām, [cleansed] of all that has entered into it [of things contrary to the Qurʾān and Sunnah].”

Conquer your desires

Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allāh have mercy on him) said:

“مُخَالَفَةُ الْهَوَى تُورِثُ الْعَبْدَ قُوَّةً فِي بَدَنِهِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَلِسَانِهِ وَقَالَ بَعْضُ السَّلَفِ الْغَالِبُ لِهَوَاهُ أَشَدُّ مِنْ الَّذِي يَفْتَحُ الْمَدِينَةَ وَحْدَهُ

"Opposing desires will allow the servant to acquire strength in his body, his heart, and his speech. Some of the righteous predecessors would say that conquering one’s desires needs more strength than one who could conquer a city by himself.”

Ibn al-Qayyim on the Benefits of Vinegar
Topics: Vinegar • Condiments

Ibn al-Qayyim said in "the Prophetic Medicine" regarding vinegar:

Muslim relates in his Saheeh, from Jaabir bin Abdullaah that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) asked his family for a condiment and they replied, "We do not have anything but vinegar". So he called for it and began to eat, saying, "How good a condiment is vinegar". In Sunan Ibn Maajah, from Umm Sa'd (radiallaahu anhaa), from the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam), "What an excellent condiment is vinegar. O Allaah bless vinegar, for it used to be the condiment of the Prophets before me. No house will be destitute that has vinegar."

Vinegar is a combination of heat andcold, of which the latter is predominant. It is dry in the third degree, and has a strong dessicative power. It prevents matters from flowing down and refines the constitution.

Wine vinegar is beneficial for inflamed stomach, calms the yellow bile, and repels the harm of deadly drugs. It dissolves milk and blood when these have solidified in the interior. It is beneficial for the spleen, tans the stomach, restricts the belly, quenches thirst, and prevents incipientinflammation. It helps the digestion, opposes phlegm, refines thick foods and thins the blood. When drunk withsalt, it is beneficial for one who has eaten deadly fungus.

When made into a broth, it dislodges the leech which has attached itself to the root of the palate. When warmed and used as a mouth rinse, it is beneficial for toothache and strengthens the gums.

It is beneficial for whitlow (pus-filled blisters) when applied as an embrocation, and for itching, hotinflammation, and burns. It increases the appetite, sweetens the stomach, and is good for young people, and in the summer for the inhabitants of warm lands.

Why Aren't You publicly Retracting When You Have To?
