The National Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina preserves priceless Islamic and historical heritage. Among its treasures is the earliest dated manunoscript in its collection: a portion of al-Zamakhsharī’s al-Kashshāf, a renowned commentary on the Qur’an, copied in Urmia, Iran, in 1337 CE.

During the Bosnian War (1992–1995), Iran played a role in supporting Bosniak forces. Through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran provided military advisers, training, and strategic planning assistance to the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH). It was one of the rare moments in the 90's where Iran and other major powers like Saudi Arabia and Turkey were all on one side.

🇧🇦🇷🇺 Two Russians captured by men of a Bosnian-Herzegovinian Infantry Regiment at the Italian border, 1915. The Russians were soldiers captured on the Eastern front and sent to the Italian front to perform mainly manual labor for the Austro-Hungarian Army.
🇧🇦🇷🇺 أُسِرَ روسيّان على يد رجال من فوج مشاة بوسني–هرسكي على الحدود الإيطالية عام 1915. وكان الروسيان جنديين أُسِرا على الجبهة الشرقية ثم أُرسِلا إلى الجبهة الإيطالية لأداء أعمال يدوية في الغالب لصالح الجيش النمساوي-المجري.

🇧🇦🐅 Rare footage of a Bosnian Tiger spotted in its natural environment. Its existence was first documented by the Bosnian explorer and merchant Muhamed Islamović from Goražde, near the modern town of Bihać. He called it the Goražde Tiger because he did not understand the Krajina accent and did not care for the opinions of the locals. Under the communists, it was renamed to the less offensive name “Bosnian Tiger.”

Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt are strengthening diplomatic, political, economic, and cultural ties. Tourism between the two countries is rising, with direct charter flights already operating and regular flights expected soon.
