Hungary will claim the territory of Transcarpathia if, as a result of the Russian military operation, the statehood of Ukraine ceases to exist, said the leader of the Hungarian Our Motherland party Laszlo Torockai, reports Hirado.hu.
The politician noted that Hungary can lay claim to the territory of the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine, since it is the only country that represents the Hungarian nation.
After the start of the military operation, in March 2022, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk accused the Hungarian authorities of trying to achieve the transfer of Transcarpathia under their control. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó noted that Budapest is ready, if necessary, to take measures to rescue and protect Hungarians living in the Transcarpathian region.

Three American troops were killed and at least twenty were injured in a drone attack on a US base in northern Jordan. CNN reported this with reference to officials.
