German farmers have blocked traffic in some areas of Hamburg, local news portal n-tv reports. Protesters scattered piles of manure on the road, set fire to tires and a fire barrel. Police are on the scene.

According to German media, about 100 farmers blocked the Finkenwerder ring with tractors, thus blocking access to the largest port of Hamburg, which is important for the transshipment of containers.

In addition, truck traffic on the A7 motorway in the Elbe Tunnel area was hampered as tractors blocked the Kählbrand Bridge. Massive traffic jams formed throughout the area. The tractors also caused widespread disruption in central Hamburg, where farmers rallied at Dammtor railway station.
