So far, Android 12 themed icons have been limited to only a few Google apps, and the collection of it has been expanding with updates.

For now, with the regular December update, Google has added Classroom themed icon, on earlier builds it isn't there. Also Android 12L has added much more themed icons for more apps. Here are the apps that have been added into the collection:
• Admin*
• Earth*
• Find My Device*
• Fitbit
• Nest
• Voice

Those three apps with * label for now currently can't display out the themed icons yet, it likely it will get fix in the next beta update. Rest of the three apps can display it properly.

Microsoft Team app update fixed emergency calling 911 issue on Android phone
Mishaal Rahman | Medium | Previous post

Earlier a Pixel 3 user posted on Reddit that he wasn't able to dial emergency number 911, and later Google responded that it a bug caused by Microsoft Team app for users who didn't sign in. An update for the app has been distributed to fix the issue.

The app version 1416/1.0.0.2021194504 of Microsoft Teams app should fix the issue, and it's rolling out to the Play Store. Meanwhile Mishaal Rahman also has released a post on Medium (link above), explaining how the issue is happening in details.

Here's a preview of what's happening. Microsoft Teams is used as a phone application to register an account (PhoneAccount) with the system. If you are not signed in, it will re-register a new PhoneAccount with every cold launch.

Once the number of PhoneAccounts generated reaches a certain amount, the system might mistakenly hand over the process to Teams. Since Teams itself cannot handle it, so users can't make emergency calls. When you are signed in, it won't register redundant PhoneAccount repeatedly, hence the bug won't occur.

Either way, the issue is solved with app update, it is available to download from Play Store or APKMirror.

YouTube is rolling out engagement graph feature as part of the YouTube Premium experiments
Earlier YouTube rolled out engagement graph feature only to a very few users, and now the feature is available for testing with a YouTube Premium subnoscription.

Engagement graph in YouTube is a graph which show how other users view the video. The higher the graph means more people have viewed it, while lower means less people have viewed it. YouTube will highlight "Most Viewed" when you scrub through the highest graph so you can just check out the part which most users have watched.

It's now available for all Premium members to try out till January 7, 2022.

YouTube soon will gain Collections feature in Subnoscriptions
Creator Insiders (YouTube)

To better organise your subnoscription feed, YouTube might roll out a nifty feature for your subnoscription page soon.

For now, YouTube only show all your subnoscriptions in one page, which you might feel there are too annoying if you have subscribed to a lot of channels. YouTube is solving this issue by introducing Collections.

Collections will be similar to folder, which can let you select several channels and gather them into one group, and entering the specific collection will only show up the creators' videos that you have selected for that collection.

It's unclear whether the feature will be available in every platform like TV when it is make available. Anyway your subnoscriptions feed can now be much more organised soon.

Google Chat gains new UI interface and quicker access to Workspace products
Google Workspace Updates

Google Chat is soon gaining some improvements over in the text box area.

The text box will be simplified into one row, with buttons to quickly gain access to other tools. The UI has actually rolled out to a few users out there on Android. Meanwhile on desktop web, the "+" menu option let you attach Drive files or Calendar events, create Docs, Sheets or Slides and share with the people in the conversation. Rest of the option are put in the right side of the text box.

The new UI layout is starting to roll out on Android and web which might take a few weeks to reach everyone. iOS is set to get around in early 2022.

⚠️ Important Announcement
Hey there, thanks for the huge support, but today I am writing this as I have something to announce.

Most of the content here are written by the same person which is also the guys writing this right now. I try to post when I have the time to do so, but for the next few days I am afraid I won't be able to do so. Just a reminder that the channel is run by self-media, operating without any profit too.

For now, my plan is to let somebody else to manage the channel. I am not sure how are they going to post, since they are also busy with their life, so for the next few days posting will be done by the others, so you might see different posting style probably, not sure.

Anyway well ensured that the channel will be back to normal operation on Thursday, 16 December, effective starting today. By the way, just conclude up everything what's new in Android 12L Beta 1 before going to rest.

Once again thanks for supporting and I will see you guys back on Thursday. Also happy holiday! 🎄🎁

Google Search desktop web is testing out new interface layout
Something interesting I found out recently, so decided to post it, a new Google Search desktop web interface.

First, you will notice the top bar is now cleaner than the previous design. The voice search and search icon on the right side changed color as you hovered over it. Clicking on the search bar changed the Google logo to a "G" with animation. There also a collapse button on the left side.

It is a server side experiment and rarely available. It's still under development as you can see, for example the settings icon and profile avatar (or sign in button) isn't showing but they are actually hidden somewhere near the Google logo. Going to other section of the page like Images reverted back to the old interface.
