Israeli Military Blows Up Neighborhood In West Bank’s Jenin Refugee Camp

At least 20 residential buildings were destroyed in the blast, which also damaged a hospital

On Sunday, the Israeli military blew up a neighborhood in the Jenin refugee camp as its stepped-up assault on the northern West Bank city continues.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA , the Israeli military rigged residential buildings in the refugee camp with explosives and blew up at least 20. The blast also damaged the main hospital in Jenin.

The WAFA report noted that the “residential buildings in Jenin refugee camp are built vertically, with each structure containing multiple apartments. As a result, a large number of families have been displaced due to the demolitions.”

The Israeli military claimed the buildings it destroyed were used as “terrorist infrastructure” but provided no evidence for the claim.

No casualties were reported in the blast as the Israeli military has forcibly displaced the majority of residents of the refugee camp as part of its campaign against resistance groups based there.

Smotrich wants Israel to restart its genocidal war with the goal of conquering the territory and cleansing it of its Palestinian population

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich praised the Trump administration on Thursday after he held a meeting with Steve Witkoff, the US envoy for the Middle East.

Witkoff has been pushing for full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire deal, an idea strongly opposed by Smotrich, who not only wants the genocidal war to be restarted but wants an escalation with the goal of the “gradual takeover of the entire Gaza Strip.”

Despite the two having seemingly opposing ideas, Smotrich appeared to be happy with how the meeting went.

“We discussed the issues at hand, the courageous relationship and close cooperation between Israel and the United States, a relationship that is now strengthening dramatically with President Trump,” Smotrich wrote on X after the meeting. “We discussed the great importance of the return of the hostages and the complete victory for the sake of strengthening the security of the State of Israel.”

Smotrich said they also discussed the “new, ‘outside the box’ thinking that the United States is promoting to enable the elimination of the forces of evil and the promotion of peace through strength in the Middle East and in general.”

Jordan and Egypt's economic and military reliance on the U.S., combined with the new president's unpredictability, will make it difficult for them to resist pressure to take in Palestinian refugees from Gaza – unless they present alternatives of their own

Jordan and Egypt may soon find themselves in a head-on collision with U.S. President Donald Trump after Trump's repeated suggestion that they take in displaced Palestinian refugees from Gaza. Trump has insisted that the two countries "will do so" and suggested that this was because the U.S. "do[es] a lot for them," touching on a highly sensitive point.

Officially, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and Jordanian King Abdullah have rejected Trump's proposal outright and opposed any relocation or expulsion of Gazans.
On Saturday, their position was endorsed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, which issued a joint statement together with the Palestinian Authority rejecting Trump's idea.

Egypt is raising concerns about the potential implications for its national security, particularly in the Sinai Peninsula, and says such a plan would require a repositioning of its military – something that would also have implications for Israel...

Officials in both Cairo and Amman are open about their concerns, saying their leaders have been left little room to maneuver because of the sensitive timing and public nature of Trump's proposal. Public opinion in both countries is sharply opposed to such an initiative. But sanctions or extensive cuts to aid by the U.S. could pose a genuine threat to essential systems in both countries...

The source adds that Egypt is dependent on aid from Washington and needs access to the World Bank, in which the U.S. wields significant power. "As long as there is no alternative plan, it won't be easy to withstand the pressure if Trump insists on implementing his plan," the source says.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he would support an effort to permanently resettle Palestinians from Gaza to places where they can live without fear of violence.
Welcoming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House, Trump said he and his team have been discussing the possibility of resettlement with Jordan, Egypt and other countries in the region.

He said he would like to see an agreement to "resettle people permanently in nice homes and where they can be happy and not be shot, not be killed."

Trump’s Plan To ‘Clean Out’ Gaza Has Overwhelming Support With Israelis

A new poll conducted in Israel found widespread support for ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza as proposed by President Donald Trump.

A poll from the Jewish People Policy Institute Israel Index released Monday found that 80% of Jewish Israelis support Trump’s proposal to clean out the Gaza Strip of Palestinians.

Last month, Trump said , “You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing.” He continued, “It’s literally a demolition site. Almost everything is demolished, and people are dying there, so I’d rather get involved with some of the Arab nations and build housing at a different location where they can maybe live in peace for a change.”

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich quickly endorsed the proposal and said he would work to implement it. “I am working with the prime minister and the cabinet to prepare an operational plan and ensure the realization of President Trump’s vision,” he said.

The Israeli Jewish population is divided on whether the plan is practical. Among Jewish Israelis, a narrow majority (52%) believe that Trump’s plan is “practical” and should be pursued. An additional 30% view cleaning out Gaza as “not practical, but desirable.”

Just over one in ten Israeli Jews viewed Trump’s proposal as a “distraction.” Only 3% replied that the ethnic cleansing of Gaza is “immoral.”

Alongside Netanyahu, Trump Says Palestinians In Gaza Should Be Removed ‘Permanently’

The president said Palestinians could no longer live in Gaza due to the destruction caused by the US-backed Israeli bombing campaign

Alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, President Trump said Palestinians should be removed from Gaza on a “permanent” basis.

“You look over the decades, it’s all death in Gaza. This has been happening for years, it’s all death. If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people permanently in nice homes where they can be happy and not be shot and not be killed,” Trump told reporters.

Trump’s repeated calls to “clean out” Palestinians from Gaza have raised fears that the US may support the ethnic cleansing of the territory, the ideal outcome for the Israeli government . Despite very strong opposition from Egypt, Jordan, and other Arab states, Trump has continued to double down on the idea.

Trump said at the White House that he believes Palestinians can be resettled in “areas where the leaders currently say no.” He said Palestinians could no longer live there due to the destruction caused by the US-backed Israeli bombing campaign and the threat of unexploded ordnances, among other things.

The president said repeatedly that the conditions in Gaza have been “like hell,” a result of the Israeli blockade that was first imposed on the Strip in 2007. “I don’t think people should be going back to Gaza. I think Gaza has been very unlucky for them. They’ve lived like hell, they’ve lived like you’re living in hell. Gaza is not a place for people to be living. And the only reason they want to go back, and I believe this strongly, is because they have no alternative,” he said.

2/2: Fate Of Gaza Ceasefire Depends On Trump-Netanyahu Meeting

According to Axios, Netanyahu will try to convince Trump to support Israel restarting the genocidal war

Whether or not the Gaza ceasefire deal is fully implemented depends on a meeting between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that will be held at the White House this Tuesday, Axios reported on Sunday.

Under the deal, Israel and Hamas were set to start talks on the second phase on Monday, but Netanyahu has decided not to send his negotiators to Qatar until after his meeting with Trump.

Israeli officials told Axios that Netanyahu hopes to convince Trump to support Israel restarting the genocidal war after the first phase, which involves a 42-day ceasefire. One official said that if the second phase isn’t implemented, Israel would likely conduct military operations in Gaza for at least a year with the goal of toppling Hamas, which has replaced the fighters.

Trump’s envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, has been saying he’s working for the full implementation of the deal. But Trump himself has called for Egypt and Jordan to take in the Palestinian population in Gaza , a plan that would amount to ethnic cleansing and would require war since it would be resisted by Hamas. Egypt, Jordan, and other Arab states have also firmly opposed the idea.

Netanyahu left for the US on Sunday after canceling a meeting with his negotiators and telling them not to travel to Qatar for the talks. “Netanyahu made this decision without even holding a discussion with the negotiations team and hearing them out. He prefers not to do anything until the meeting with Trump,” an Israeli official said.
