"The capitalists often boast that their constitutions guarantee the rights of the individual, democratic liberties and the interests of all citizens. But in reality, only the bourgeoisie enjoy the rights recorded in these constitutions. The working people do not really enjoy democratic freedoms; they are exploited all their life and have to bear heavy burdens in the service of the exploiting class"

Here is an excellent contribution from a Red Youth comrade, delivered at a 2016 general meeting of the Stalin Society. In this talk, she reflects on what Comrade Stalin represents to her, and delves into the monumental achievements of the Soviet people, particularly of women's liberation under socialism.

Comrade Stalin’s unwavering commitment to the proletarian revolution drove the Soviet Union forward, proving to the world that only socialism, led by the proletariat with an understanding of Marxist-Leninism, can bring about true emancipation - for women, for workers, and for all oppressed people.

‘Toxic masculinity’ is a nonsense term. It doesn’t describe a class. It doesn’t describe a system. It describes a vague set of behaviours supposedly unique to men, divorced entirely from the economic conditions that produce those behaviours.

It is the liberal’s comfort blanket: a way to talk about violence, anger and alienation without ever mentioning the capitalist system.

Rice-transplantation Brisk at Farms of DPRK
Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- Agricultural officials and workers in the DPRK and those helping the farmers are pushing ahead with rice-transplanting.

Agricultural workers in South Hwanghae Province have transplanted rice seedlings in more than 10 000 hectares of paddy fields by bringing about good results every day with the enthusiasm to finish rice-transplanting in most of rice paddies within May.

North Phyongan Province set a proper period for rice-transplanting after considering the features of the area and strains of rice, and has mobilized all its forces and means.

Agricultural workers in South Phyongan Province continue to make efforts to grow healthy rice seedlings and transplant rice seedlings in paddy fields, meeting the technical requirements for rice-transplanting.

Agricultural workers in North Hwanghae Province are planting rice seedlings while placing emphasis on boosting the survival rate of rice seedlings and examining their growth.

Interesting historical fact: On May 23, 1918, V.I. Lenin issued a severe reprimand to V.D. Bonch-Bruyevich, who had increased his salary.

Vladimir Lenin, who held the post of Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars, discovered in financial documents an inexplicable increase in his monthly salary from 500 to 800 rubles. The increase was initiated by the manager of the Council of People's Commissars, Vladimir Bonch-Bruyevich, without his approval.

Lenin responded immediately. That same day he sent Bonch-Bruyevich an official document:

“To the Manager of the Affairs of the Council of People’s Commissars, Vladimir Dmitrievich Bonch-Bruevich.

In view of your failure to comply with my urgent demand to indicate to me the basis for increasing my salary from March 1, 1918, from 500 to 800 rubles per month, and also in view of the obvious illegality of this increase, carried out by you arbitrarily in agreement with the Secretary of the Council, Nikolai Petrovich Gorbunov, and in violation of the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of November 23, 1917, I am issuing you a severe reprimand.

Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars: V. Ulyanov (Lenin)"

Socialism is no longer a matter of the distant future, or an abstract picture, or an icon. We still retain our old bad opinion of icons. We have dragged socialism into everyday life, and here we must find our way. This is the task of our day, the task of our epoch.

The ‘culture wars’ paradigm encourages workers to identify with members of the ruling class, and even to call on the bourgeois state to suppress or silence workers on the ‘other side’, who are perceived to be an ‘enemy’ and the cause of all society’s problems.

Meanwhile ruling-class ‘team leaders’ are seen as allies and even saviours.

A key aspect of the work in People's Korea is that it is dominated by productive work, work directed towards the production of goods either used by the people or to produce new means of production which will then provide new production and goods to the people. The workers of People's Korea are working for the people and lifting the living standards of the people, including themselves. They are not working for an elite parasitic minority that send profits and production out of the country, destroying the living standards of the country. Workers in Scotland have a lot to learn from the DPRK. More of us must make the trip to see it for ourselves and break the grip of anti-DPRK propaganda used to keep the Scottish working class from seeing the benefits of a different system.

The capitalist powers are forever trying to rewrite history in to demonise socialism. One of their most insidious lies is the claim that the Soviet Union was in league with Nazi Germany, using the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact as so-called evidence. But this is pure distortion. Long before that non-aggression agreement, it was Chamberlain’s Britain that sought alliance with the fascist forces of Germany and Italy, culminating in the betrayal of Czechoslovakia through the Munich Agreement and the shameful handover of the Sudetenland. This was not peacekeeping, but an open attempt to direct fascist aggression eastward, towards the rising socialist state of the U.S.S.R.

The Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was not to create friendships with the Nazi's but to give the soviet people time to prepare for war.
