According to some reports circulating online, Saudi forces have begun bombing columns belonging to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) which is backed by the UAE. However, in the published video, no airstrikes on moving vehicles can be seen.

🖍In any case, Abu Dhabi has made its move. It appears that the Emirates are not willing to trade their “brotherly” relations with the Saudis over Yemeni problems. But that is only how it looks at first glance.

🚩The Emirati side has said nothing about the STC, and its support for them is unlikely to dry up overnight. It is also unclear which Emirati actors were actually involved in backing the Southern Transitional Council. The phenomenon of military groupings that are nominally stationed in foreign countries while simply eating up the budget is well known not only in Russia.

❗️The STC is not even being used here as a bargaining chip.
