🔵 (khaste nabAshid) خسته نباشید (lit: may you not be tired) is probably the most frequent untranslatable Persian expression. in the above picture we can translate it to "well done", "good job", "nice work"
However,
👉 it can also be an expression of greeting coming after "hello" and "how are you" or instead of them.

👉 it's also a way to appreciate others' efforts or a good wish for someone who is maybe tired! a common usage for that would be at the end of a class. telling your prof خسته نباشید while they're still teaching means you want the class to finish because you're tired and can't understand anything anymore. this may not work always though, the prof may say خسته نیستم (I'm not tired) and continue teaching!

👉 it can also be used sarcastically, for example: "so you've failed in all your exams?! khaste nabAshi!"

👉 last but not least, if someone tells you خسته نباشی/خسته نباشید you can answer by saying سلامت باشی/سلامت باشید (may you be healthy)

🔸 Khorasan (خراسان) also called Greater Khorasan (خراسان بزرگ) was a historical region comprised the present territories of northeastern Iran, parts of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and southern parts of Central Asia. It included Important cities such as Nishapur (present-day Iran), Marv (present-day Turkmenistan), Herat and Balkh (present-day Afghanistan), Bukhara and Samarqand (present-day Uzbekistan)

🔹Khorasan which literally means "where the sun arrives from" was the Eastern Province of Sasanian Empire. Almost two centuries after Arab invasion in the 7th century, Khorasan was the first territory to became independent from Arab rule. It played a great role in reviving the Persian language and remained the cultural capital of Persia Until the devastating Mongol invasion of the 13th century.

🔸Khorasan is the birthplace of many prominent scientists and poets such as Avicenna (Abu Ali Sina), Omar Khayyam, Rudaki, Ferdowsi and Rumi (Mowlānā/ Mawlavī).

🔹Today, the term Khorasan is a source of great nostalgia and nationalism, especially amongst the Tajiks of Central Asia and Afghanistan. many of them regard Khorasan as an integral part of their national identity.
