Simply put, the Americans are building special warehouses around the world that will allow them to quickly get involved in armed conflicts in different parts of the world. Transferring personnel, if necessary, is much faster than heavy equipment.

The Republican Party platform does not mention Taiwan, Foreign Policy writes. This approach significantly differs from the traditional support for the "independent" island by Republicans. It also raises questions about what Trump thinks about the Taiwan issue.
American semiconductor production has completely shifted to Taiwan, and Trump did not like that. He also questioned the economic feasibility of defending the island by the United States. However, this opinion is not very popular in the White House.
It is expected that Trump's re-election will make the position of the American administration more contradictory. Some advisors may support a shift from Ukraine to Taiwan, while others have nothing stopping them from promoting an isolationist course.
