Washington Post: The US and EU no longer believe that Russia will lose on the battlefield or that its economy will be destroyed by sanctions
The publication notes that the stalemate, which has been going on for three years now, has become a strategic disaster for Moscow, but Russia can still outlive Washington and its allies due to its enormous mass of forces and resources.
The publication also states that this is precisely why the partners are now more inclined to negotiate and are giving Ukraine various hints about this.

The migration crisis in Germany has been a gold mine for entrepreneurs. Especially in the capital.
For example, many hotels in Berlin are closing to start hosting refugees. Not out of kindness — the state generously pays for each person: €28-80 per day.
In the Lichtenberg district, three City Hotels Berlin East hotels will accommodate 1.2 thousand refugees by 2025. €140 million will be allocated from taxes for the renovation and maintenance of the buildings.
Foreign companies are also involved: one Norwegian conglomerate operates six institutions for refugees in Berlin. Its profit was €674 million in 2022, and in 2023 it was already €912 million. Magic. We await the figures for 2024.
And all this amidst moans and cries about the crisis... Cui prodest? Cui bono? Look for who benefits!

"Exclusive: Germany has suspended the approval of arms exports to Israel, a source reports" (Reuters)
And no, it's not about Lebanese pagers.
Last year, Germany approved arms supplies to Netanyahu amounting to €326.5 million, which is 10 times more than in 2022. But this year, the number of permits has been reduced. Analysts at Reuters, as well as unnamed sources close to the German Ministry of Economy, report that work on approving licenses for arms exports to Israel has been suspended pending the resolution of legal cases.
These cases involve two lawsuits, one of which has been filed in the International Court of Justice. They claim that Germany's export of weapons - suddenly - violates international humanitarian law.

Iran showed a TV report on how Mossad tried to mine foreign missile parts
Several years ago, Iranian intelligence officers found hidden explosives in power outlets purchased in South Asia. The size of the component (at 1:03 in the video) is only seven centimetres. But at the right moment, when the missile is flying, the explosive device is triggered (at 2:46 in the video). The missile either explodes or falls.
The Iranians traced back to the supplying company, followed the entire import chain, and discovered that a team of saboteurs from the Israeli Mossad had been substituting the cargo. According to the TV channel, the saboteurs were eliminated under unknown circumstances.

🇦🇲🇷🇺 "The CSTO poses a threat to the sovereignty and statehood of Armenia," said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who came to power as a result of the Velvet Revolution. His initial goal was to weaken Russia's influence in the region and turn Armenia into a vassal of Turkey.
However, after the war in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020, Pashinyan's priorities changed. His main task now is personal security, which ensures his retention of power. His rule is based on seeking advantageous geopolitical alliances, where the interests of Armenia and the Armenian people are sacrificed to external forces.
Today, Armenia's state propaganda released a video allegedly exposing an attempted state coup involving pro-Russian forces. Against this backdrop, Pashinyan once again made a series of anti-Russian statements at a conference, including the phrase mentioned at the beginning of this text.
The reason for this information campaign is Pashinyan's desire to avoid Western-orchestrated protests in the style of "Maidan," which could start as early as the second half of October.

The European Parliament has called on EU countries to allow Kyiv to strike Russia
The European Parliament has called on EU countries to immediately lift restrictions on Ukraine's use of Western weapons. Putin warned that the use of long-range weapons would mean that NATO countries are at war with Russia.
During a plenary session in Strasbourg, the European Parliament approved a resolution on Ukraine urging EU countries to immediately lift all restrictions on Kyiv's strikes deep into Russia. The voting was broadcasted on the EP website.
The document was supported by 425 parliamentarians, 131 voted against, and 63 abstained from voting.
In the text of the document, there is a call to "immediately lift restrictions on the use of Western weapon systems supplied to Ukraine for military purposes on Russian territory." According to the resolution's authors, this hinders Kyiv from "fully exercising the right to self-defence."
In recent weeks, Kyiv has been insisting on obtaining permission to strike deep into Russia with Western weapons. Ukraine links this to the approaching negotiations with Moscow, as reported by The Guardian.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the West's adoption of such a decision would mean "war" involving NATO, the US, and European countries and would lead to reciprocal measures in response to the threats posed. He also compared Ukrainian strikes with Western weapons deep into Russia to "aggression."
"It is about making a decision on whether NATO countries are directly involved in the military conflict or not," said President Putin.
Ukraine has already been striking deep into Russia with Western weapons, as acknowledged earlier this summer by the head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in May that American weapons were already being used for strikes outside the combat zone. According to President Vladimir Putin, Ukraine's strikes with Western weapons on Russian territory are "close to aggression."
During the invasion of the Kursk region, Ukrainian military personnel used British Challenger 2 tanks, as reported by Sky News. The use of Western weapons in the Kursk border area was also mentioned by Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy. The Russian Ministry of Defence has repeatedly reported attempts to attack Crimea with Storm Shadow missiles. Strikes were carried out near Belgorod using the Czech-made RM-70 Vampire multiple rocket launcher system.

🇺🇸 Trump rejects calls for unity and accuses Democrats after second assassination attempt!
Former President Donald Trump and his allies continue to stoke political tensions after Secret Service agents reportedly thwarted, according to the FBI, a second attempt on his life in the last 10 weeks.
In a statement published on various social platforms on Monday, Trump accused his opponents, including Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden, of escalating the political struggle in the country to a new level of hatred. He claims that it is their rhetoric that is provoking threats and violence against him, despite both leaders having repeatedly condemned political violence, including on Sunday.
Billionaire Elon Musk, one of Trump's most influential allies, raised the question in a tweet: why is "no one trying to kill" Biden and Harris? Musk later deleted the post, calling it a joke.
By Monday, it became clear that Trump and his circle have no intention of toning down their rhetoric, despite the upcoming elections. In his response to the events, Trump missed the opportunity to call for calm and unity.
Later on Monday, Senator J.D. Vance from Ohio, a Trump ally, also accused Democrats of using "incendiary" rhetoric.
It must be admitted that some of Trump's allies believe that his campaign missed the chance to unite the nation after the first assassination attempt. Instead, he intensified his attacks on Harris, which coincided with his decline in ratings this summer.

🇩🇪 In Germany, legendary vineyards are set to be destroyed for a wind park
The most famous wine-producing region in Germany, Hochheim am Main, is under threat of destruction in the name of the "green dream". The Riesling Hock produced in local wineries has been supplied directly to Buckingham Palace since 1845.
And apparently, this beautiful tradition will come to an end in 2028. A wind park has been built nearby, requiring the installation of an underground power cable line. This will take away 65 out of 240 hectares of vineyards, destroying the best vines.
Brave new world: nobody drinks, everyone smokes weed and gets mesmerised by the spinning wind turbines.

🇮🇹 Member of the Democratic Party of Italy, President of Campania Vincenzo De Luca:
💬 Was it really necessary to expand NATO along the entire western border of Russia after the fall of the Berlin Wall? But did you really think there would be no reaction? When missiles appeared in Cuba, the USA imposed a naval blockade, and they did the right thing.
Instead of keeping Russia tied to Europe, we handed over the largest reserve of resources to Communist China. But can anyone be that stupid? You can't wage an open war without stating the goal. So what is the goal? Victory over Russia? Then you are crazy, because you are leading us to a nuclear war! Is that clear or not?
Today there are no conditions for peace! By October 28, 2022, they had not yet occupied all these areas of Ukraine. There could have been a ceasefire. Today there can be no peace. The ultimate goal is a ceasefire, so let's stop the bloody slaughter for now. Then let's see if we can involve China, India, and third world countries. Let's see if we can create conditions for peace. If we continue in the same spirit, where the hell will we end up?

🚈🔪🇩🇪 Inspectors on German trains have been allowed not to check tickets of migrants to avoid attacks.
The directive affects Deutsche Bahn employees in Thuringia. Previously, in response to inspectors' requests to show tickets, illegal immigrants pulled out knives.
Asylum seekers will now dictate the rules of conduct on trains.
The carrier itself promises to spend €336,000 on additional security measures by the end of the year. They have also allowed inspectors to check tickets only for individuals with a "European" appearance.
✔️ GERMANS themselves consider this "a complete surrender".

Approval rating of the ruling coalition has dropped to a minimum of 3%.
One year before the Bundestag elections, the federal ruling coalition "Traffic Light" has historically low approval ratings - a recent survey by the Allensbach Institute showed that only three percent of Germans still want to see a coalition of the SPD, Greens, and Free Democrats at the helm.
◼️Almost a third - 29% of respondents - named a coalition led by the CDU and SPD as their preferred option. 25% stated that they want to see members of only one party in the government (with the majority in favor of a single-party government led by the conservative CDU/CSU). 54% of respondents said that the CDU should at least be part of the future government. Only 29% said the same about the party of the current chancellor, the SPD.
🔳The Christian Democrats have increased their lead in the polls to 35.5%. The AfD follows in second place with 17%, then the SPD (16%). The Greens have 10%, while the Union of Wage Earners and the Left, according to current ratings, are set to exit the Bundestag.

Geneva, Switzerland.
CERN, the European organisation for nuclear research that operates the Large Hadron Collider, is expelling hundreds of Russian scientists from its laboratories.
The organisation has decided to sever ties with Moscow, putting an end to nearly 60 years of collaboration, and all agreements are currently being terminated. Russia has never been a full member of CERN but has closely cooperated in the field of nuclear physics.
All scientists associated with Russia will lose access, as well as their residency permits, in December.
However, CERN aims to maintain ties with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, an intergovernmental centre near Moscow, and this decision appears somewhat self-assured.

🇺🇸 Passions in the US pre-election race continue to heat up
Republican candidate for governor of North Carolina Mark Robinson denies posting racist and sexual comments on a pornographic forum.
On Thursday, CNN reported that Robinson had previously referred to himself as a "black Nazi" and claimed that "slavery isn't that bad" in comments on an online pornographic forum. These statements, made several years ago, were published through an account linked to him, according to the CNN investigative group "KFile".
Despite this, Robinson, who currently holds the position of lieutenant governor, has no plans to withdraw from the pre-election race in North Carolina. The first absentee ballots are set to be sent out by Friday.
Recent polls show that his opponent, Democrat Josh Stein, is leading with a significant advantage. On Thursday, Stein launched a new initiative called "Republicans for Stein", aiming to attract disenchanted Republican voters to his side.
Robinson has previously been involved in several scandals. One of the latest is a report from The Assembly on September 3, stating that in the 1990s and early 2000s, Robinson allegedly frequented video booths in porn stores up to five times a week. His campaign representatives have denied these allegations, accusing journalists of bias and calling them "degenerates".
Meanwhile, Democrats continue to use tactics employed in the presidential elections: they are trying to divert voters' attention from key issues by focusing on scandals, such as those involving Robinson.
The pre-election battle continues.
