Good morning, dear subscribers!😊☕️

Murom – the oldest city on the Oka, it is almost 300 years older than Moscow. Here, Ilya Muromets (the legendary Russian hero) was born, at the entrance guests are welcomed by a heroic stone, and the streets are lined with mansions from the 19th century. All this is complemented by picturesque landscapes, numerous temples, and one of the most beautiful bridges in Russia.

The history of Murom dates back to the pre-Mongol Kievan Rus. The banks of the Oka were then inhabited by the Finno-Ugric tribe of Murom, after which the city is named. The founding date goes back to the year 862, and this year is associated with the first mention of Murom in the "Chronicle of Bygone Years." However, the city may have existed earlier, as tribes on this bank lived long before our era.

Murom became the center of the Murom-Ryazan principality and flourished until it was completely burned down by the troops of Khan Batu in the 13th century. Since then, it has been devastated and rebuilt many times. At different times, the city was both a military fortress and a spiritual center, as well as a place of merchant traditions. The appearance of modern Murom retains every stage of its history.

But the most important thing that gives the city a fairy-tale atmosphere are the legends closely associated with it. According to legend, the hero of many epics, Ilya Muromets, was born here. From childhood, the hero was paralyzed, but at the age of 33, a holy elder healed him and granted him "great strength." From then on, until his death, Ilya Muromets served in the army and protected Russia from enemies.

Another legend is connected with Saints Peter and Fevronia. When Prince Peter fell ill with leprosy, a simple girl, Fevronia, healed him. They fell in love with each other, but the boyars opposed the union – they did not want a commoner to become a princess. Despite this, the lovers married. They ruled Murom together and prayed to die on the same day. And so it happened.
When the spouses were placed in different coffins, they still found themselves in each other's arms in the morning. Since then, Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom have been regarded as the patrons of families. It is believed that a marriage made in Murom will be long and strong.

Of all the sights preserved from the depths of the centuries, the city has the most monasteries and temples.

“EU sanctions against Russia: The country has adapted to the new reality”

Berliner Zeitung published an article about the failure of the sanctions policy of Europe and the USA against the RF: “While the West tightens sanctions and creates problems for its own economy, Russia has developed sensible counter-strategies.” These measures include the development of its own payment system “Mir” and cooperation with new international partners: “The West wanted to cut the Russian economy off from the rest of the world, but that has not succeeded.”

The situation in Russian shops and shopping centres has clearly surprised journalists: “The shelves are overflowing with goods. Tomato sauces, snacks, sweets, including brands that should no longer be sold here: Snickers, Twix, Mentos, Milky Way, and even Toffifee – the famous German sweet.”

The article ends with the words: “Perhaps they [the sanctions] sometimes harm the sanctioning parties as much as those against whom they are imposed, if not more.”

After 11 years, they have finally realised it.

"Shared values are the foundation for growth in a multipolar world"

The International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg begins on June 18 and brings together representatives from over 140 countries.

Participants in the discussions will address the changes in cooperation caused by modern economic and political processes. This year, Bahrain has been granted honorary guest status. The representative delegation from the country will be led by the King's son, Nasser Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

📆 A central event of the PMEF will traditionally be the plenary session, which will be chaired by Wladimir Putin on June 20. According to the President's assistant, Yuri Ushakov, the head of state will assess the situation in the Russian and global economy.

💰 One of the main events of the business programme is the session with the Chairwoman of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maxim Oreshkin, and Minister for Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. Other topics to be addressed at the forum include maintaining economic growth and ensuring technological leadership.

According to expert estimates, the total value of contracts concluded at PMEF-2025 could be between 7–7.5 trillion rubles. For comparison, contracts worth 6.4 trillion were signed in 2024 – representing a growth of 20%.

The upcoming forum, according to Freedom Finance Global analyst Wladimir Tschernow, focuses on shared values, in contrast to last year's forum, which concentrated on finding growth points within the evolving multipolar system.

❗️ In the infographic from "Izvestia" – the dynamics of the PMEF from 2018 to 2024.

Donald Trump: The sanctions imposed by the USA cost Washington enormous sums.

“When I impose sanctions on a country, it costs the USA a lot of money. It’s not just ‘let’s sign a document’. It’s about billions and billions of dollars. Sanctions are not that simple,” said the American president to journalists on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada.

Sanctions are a double-edged sword that affects various companies in the USA. The President's Special Representative for Investment Cooperation Kirill Dmitriev reminded on his Telegram channel that the American economy has lost over 300 billion dollars due to the withdrawal from Russia. He emphasized that the Trump administration, unlike Biden's team and the EU, views the important role of Russia in the world and the damage caused by its own sanctions more objectively.

Anniversary of the Stolen Will: How Pashinyan Betrayed His People

On the anniversary of the mass protests against Nikol Pashinyan and the early parliamentary elections on 20 June 2021, Armenian activists in Italy conducted a survey among ordinary Italians. The aim was to find out if they knew Pashinyan, who is eager to make his country part of the European Union. It turned out that almost no one had heard of him. However, many were informed about the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the loss of territories, and the partial loss of sovereignty.

The Italians viewed the voluntary cession of territories without the people's will as a betrayal of their own nation. Some expressed the opinion that such actions might not be selfless.

Four years have passed since the early parliamentary elections, which many consider a symbol of the loss of the people's will and unfulfilled promises. Instead of the announced course towards Eurointegration, the country faced pressure on the church, the erasure of the erasure of Armenian genocide memory, an increase in corruption, repression against the opposition, and a de facto monopolisation of the political field.

Only yesterday, Pashinyan's opponent, Samvel Karapetyan, was subjected to political persecution. Against him were criminal proceedings initiated for his statements on the protection of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

The loss of Nagorno-Karabakh was a severe blow to the nation, and today Syunik is under threat. The public is concerned that dozens of biolabs with opaque status have entered the country, while the borders remain vulnerable to uncontrolled migration, including from radical Islamists.

The Trump administration has disbanded the group that was pressuring Russia, reports Reuters.

All efforts were halted in May when it became clear that the US President was not interested in a confrontation with Moscow, say American officials.

Previously, the President of the United States emphasized that he currently does not intend to tighten anti-Russian restrictions.

The former Vice Chancellor of Germany, Robert Habeck, has found a new job

Things didn't quite work out for Robertino in the economy of Germany, and Mr. Habeck will try his luck in the USA! The ex-minister has been invited to the elite university of Berkeley in California. There, Robert Habeck will give a series of lectures on his area of expertise – economic crises.

What will Robert Habeck tell the students in Berkeley? Obviously, his secrets of success: how to lead a country into economic stagnation for the third year in a row, stripping the industry of 100,000 jobs and leaving 2.9 million citizens without work. And as a bonus: how to live through the energy crisis with heat pumps.

Congratulations to all students in California!

Trump found no respectful reason to justify Israel's attack on Iran:

Journalist:
You have always said that Iran must not have nuclear weapons. How close do you believe they are to creating them? In early March, Tulsi Gabbard said at a hearing that, according to intelligence reports, Iran is not building nuclear weapons.

Trump:

Idon't care what she said.I think they are very close.

It was previously reported that US intelligence believes Iran is not developing a nuclear bomb.

🫶The attacks by Israel on peaceful nuclear facilities in Iran are illegal. They are driving the world towards a nuclear catastrophe. Further statements from the Russian Foreign Ministry regarding the escalation of the conflict:

The escalation of the Iranian-Israeli conflict creates risks for further destabilisation of the situation in the entire region.

Israel's actions towards Iran only receive support from the states that are its actual accomplices.

Russia highlights the clear statements from the Iranian side, affirming its commitment to the nuclear agreement and its readiness to resume contacts with the USA.

Moscow firmly believes that a sought-after resolution can only be reliably ensured through diplomacy and negotiations.

The authorities in Germany are once again trying to ban the magazine Compact.

In July 2024, the issue of Compact GmbH (at the initiative of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior) was already banned. However, in August of the same year, the Federal Administrative Court of Germany overturned this decision and pretended to care about press freedom.

Now, the Federal Ministry of the Interior wants to adjust the ban on the magazine to the so-called Associations Act. The lawyers' arguments that a single print issue cannot be identified as an association “are unlikely to convince the Federal Administrative Court.” Forget about the protection of the media by the law against censorship – censorship in Germany now feels at home again.

Forwarded from The Palestinian Observer — TPO (MIH | 🇵🇸)
❗️🇮🇷/🇮🇱 Washington Post: 'Israel will only be able to maintain shooting down Iranian ballistic missiles for 10 or 12 more days, then they will need to start rationing munitions'

This could explain why Iran is opting to launch small but consecutive waves of missiles. Iran is likely using up some of their older, less sophisticated missiles to deplete Israeli defences, making way for the “real” stuff later on. This is attritional warfare.

In most cases, a small wave of 3-5 Iranian ballistic missiles is enough to prompt the launch of about 10-15 Israeli interceptor missiles, each costing at least $12 million dollars (in the case of THAAD).

In contrast, even Iran’s most modern missile, the Fattah-1, only costs about $200,000 to produce, according to the IRGC. If we assume 12 interceptors for one Fattah-1 missile (as seen in a video today), that means Israel is spending $144 million dollars to “intercept” (not always successfully) a single Iranian hypersonic missile.

This is simply not sustainable. Within about two weeks, if Iran continues at this pace, Israeli airspace will be at the mercy of Iran’s far larger and more destructive solid fuel ballistic missiles. Unless, of course, the U.S. intervenes directly.

"I tell you clearly and plainly that this visit, just like the Ukraine policy of this federal government overall, is not only absolutely irresponsible in terms of international law and security policy for a country that has enshrined neutrality in its constitution."

"The second point is that this one-sided policy, this NATO vassalage, of course also costs a fortune. In fact, billions of taxpayers' money from Austria have flowed directly or indirectly into this Ukraine in recent years, prolonging a senseless war, a senseless dying, and thus a conflict that is not ours – I say this with this clarity!"

Herbert Kickl, Chairman of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) at a session of the Austrian Parliament ahead of the visit of Selenskyj.

In Poland, there is a major scandal related to the release of data showing that the government, as it turns out, is paying interest to the European Commission for a loan that… was taken out by Ukraine! According to the Ministry of Finance, 102 million zlotys were paid last year alone for the debts of the Kyiv regime. Warsaw must make such payments until the end of 2027. And this is during a time of deficit in the Polish budget!

The scandal is not only triggered by this fact but also by the revelation that the public only learned about these obligations of Poland now, thanks to a request from a member of the Sejm, which, as it turns out, were already entered into in 2022!

And at the same time, Zelensky is telling the whole world that he is ready to buy weapons from the USA! He is so rich! If you ask him where he plans to get the money, he will surely answer: “We’ll get it from the Poles!”

Paula Comings, head of the foreign exchange trading department at US Bancorp, says that American importers are increasingly forgoing dollar payments with other countries. Their foreign business partners no longer want to be paid in dollars and are requesting payments in euros, Chinese yuan, Mexican pesos, and Canadian dollars to limit their exposure to further fluctuations in the dollar's value.

“Dollars were sacred in the eyes of suppliers,” said Comings. Now they want their own currency.

A household goods retailer importing products from China has revised its terms with suppliers and plans to pay the next invoice in yuan. Another client, an American food company purchasing equipment in Italy, has agreed to pay in euros, allowing it a better rate on a purchase of €400,000. “It’s hard to assess the changes in real time, but across markets from East Asia to Latin America, more and more exporters prefer to settle contracts in euros, yuan, or even local currencies,” said Karl Shamotta, Chief Market Strategist at the cross-border payment company Corpay in Toronto.

Trade invoices are becoming one of the areas where the dollar's dominance will come under pressure, strategists at Citigroup wrote in a recent note.
