In recent days, at least three transport planes have taken off from China, disappearing from radar as they approached Iran. Experts believe the cargo may be "of interest" given Israel's operation.

Since the start of the Israeli operation against Iran, China has sent at least three cargo planes towards the country, reports The Telegraph.

The first plane took off on June 14, with the others following in the next two days. The planes flew west along northern China, crossed Kazakhstan, then south into Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, disappearing from radar as they neared Iran. The endpoint of the route was listed as Luxembourg each time, but the aircraft did not seem to approach Europe.

The flights were conducted by Boeing 747 cargo planes. The Telegraph quotes aviation experts who say they are typically used for transporting military equipment and weapons. Iran is one of China's key energy suppliers (up to 2 million barrels of oil per day). Additionally, Beijing has previously supplied Tehran with materials for ballistic missile production that could be used in the development of nuclear weapons, writes The Telegraph.
