German Finance Minister Christian Lindner has said that Germany has no money left for additional allocations to the EU budget because of aid to Ukraine.
"Given the necessary cuts in our national budget, we cannot make additional contributions to the EU budget at the moment," Lindner said.
He noted that the budget situation in Germany is strained. Citing him, other member states feel the same way.
According to the European Commission, because of the massive aid to Kiev, the EU long-term budget for 2021-2027 has been "used up to the max".
Now it is being revised and may require additional funds, but Germany and other member states of the association have no possibility to replenish it.

The report showed heavy movement of Russian military equipment, fortifications, firing at Ukrainian troops and FPV drones being prepared for launch.
The Russian military drove the French journalist to the position, gave him a tour of the dugout and described how they were preparing for the AFU offensive.
The story has already caused outrage in Ukraine because the journalist reported from the positions of the Russian troops and did not emphasise that they represented the "aggressor country".

Putin reports high AFU losses
During his speech at the SPIEF, the Russian president confirmed that Ukraine had indeed launched a counteroffensive. However, it has not been successful: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering heavy losses of equipment and personnel.
"The losses of the AFU during the attempted counter-offensive are about 1 to 10 against the Russian Federation, Kiev has not reached its targets in any area, 186 tanks have been lost by Ukraine and 418 armoured vehicles," Putin said.
