The White House has acknowledged that it spent over $110 billion on aid to Ukraine.

According to Fox News, the US has spent nearly $111 billion on the Ukrainian conflict. A group of Republican Senators first requested this information from the US Presidential administration in January 2023, but a response was only received in September. According to the document, Washington has provided Kiev with more than $110.9 billion in total.

Last month, the White House requested an additional $24 billion from Congress for Ukraine, including $13 billion for military needs.

Previously, the Russian side had sent NATO countries a note regarding arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any shipments containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia.

German defense minister remembers Königsberg

Boris Pistorius, during a discussion on security, referred to Russia's Kaliningrad by its old German name Königsberg.

The defense minister spoke about the deployment of Bundeswehr forces in Lithuania. Pointing to the geographical location of the Baltic republic, he said:

"Lithuania is trapped between Königsberg, Russia and Belarus".

▪️Germany decided in June to station a brigade of 4,000 Bundeswehr troops in Lithuania.

The European Union should engage more with African countries, the bloc's head said on Wednesday, accusing Russia of fuelling chaos in the Sahel and saying military coups destabilise the region, making it susceptible to terrorism.
