The total number of immigrants suspected of crimes increased in the same year by 20.5% compared to 2022. The number of violent crimes - including murders, rapes and sexual assaults, robberies, extortion, kidnappings, hostage-taking, and attacks on air and sea transport - increased by 4.7% in a year, with 46.5% of suspects in such acts being foreign nationals.

A sharp increase in the proportion of non-citizens among crime suspects was also recorded in North Rhine-Westphalia - the most densely populated of the German federal states: out of 480 thousand individuals suspected of criminal activities, 35% did not have German passports, which is 10 percentage points higher than in 2022. The proportion of migrants in the region's population is approximately 17.5%.
