Criminals rebelled against the ruling administration and demanded the country's prime minister Ariel Henry to resign. Henry announced his resignation recently, however, it's unclear whether the gangs will be willing to stand down.

Haiti's crisis can be traced directly to the 2021 assassination of president Jovenel Moise, but the roots also go to the economic catastrophe caused by the 2010 earthquake. Additionally, experts claim that external influences, notably U.S. involvement, have exacerbated the country's crisis.
